In the list view on my events calendar, the name and address of the venue is listed. It looks like this:
Mingei International Museum of Art,
1439 El Prado
San Diego, CA 92101 United States
Why is there a comma after the venue name? That is not standard, so far as I am aware. Looks odd. Is it there for a reason? Is there a way I can get rid of it?
That’s definitely strange! Do you have any custom template overrides in your theme folder? See our Themer’s Guide for more info. Also, do you have any snippets on your theme’s functions.php file that might be overwriting what info is output in the list view event details?
The best way to test this is review our Testing for conflicts guide and reply back with your findings. Thank you and have a wonderful night. Cheers!
I haven’t had time to do the sleuthing work recommended. However, this issue now appears to have somehow resolved itself with the recent update to 4.3. The comma’s still there, but it’s not followed by a hard return.
After some sleuthing myself, I’ve found if you remove the first comma in the following line of code found on /the-events-calendar/src/views/list/single-event.php, you should get the desired results.
<?php echo implode( ', ', $venue_details ); ?>
Be sure review our Themer’s Guide for more info on saving customizations to avoid losing changes when updating our plugins in the future.
Please let me know if this helps and take care. Cheers!
Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
