ParticipantI just upgrade from The Events Calendar to The Events Calendar Pro. Now on each event, I have this snippet of code at the bottom:
{lang: ‘en’}This appears in the box you see when you hover over an item in month view.

MemberHello MelRae! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. I’m so glad you upgraded to PRO and appreciate the support. 🙂
Sorry for the trouble here with that funky looking tag in Month View — I see exactly what you’re talking about.
Do you happen to use a multilingual plugin? I ask because that snippet looks like a language setting and there are a number of known compatibility issues between The Events Calendar PRO and multilingual extensions. I’d like to confirm that just to make sure.
Will you please also try following these steps to test for other conflicts as well? This will help us pinpoint exactly where the issue is coming from, in the event that it’s a conflict with the theme or another installed plugin.
Let’s start here and see what we find. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantHi!
I don’t know if I have a multi-lingual plugin. I’ve inherited the website and am getting it up to speed again. I don’t see anything obviously multi-lingual. Can you direct me on how to test that for certain?
Testing the conflicts was a big help. I do not have a conflict with my theme, and identified that the conflict is with this plug-in: Ultimate Social Icons and Share Plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/ultimate-social-media-icons/
When I install and activate that plugin, it affects the events on my calendar (The Event Calendar and The Event Calendar PRO).
Hover over the calendar events here: http://www.newbraunfelsbible.org/events/ and you will see
Var addthis_config…I have contacted that plugin, but can you help me fix this?
I am running The Event Calendar by Modern Tribe v 3.10.1
And The Event Calendar PRO by Modern Tribe v3.10.1URL

MemberNice work testing for conflicts! So glad that was a help and it looks like you did indeed uncover the conflict. 🙂
It looks like the Ultimate Social Icons and Share Plugin is trying to embed the social media icons in there. It probably is designed to look for any instance where there is a post excerpt and place social icons right after it. In this case, however, it seems that its code is conflicting with the calendar’s code in the particular instance.
The social icons plugin author is going to be the best to help here since they directly support that codebase and can isolate it from the calendar’s Month View. Please feel free to have them reach out to us if there’s anything we can do to help to make it easier.
In the meantime, there are other ways to add social media sharing that is more compatible with The Events Calendar and we cover those here in this article.
Sorry I don’t have a more concrete solution for you here, but I do hope that the social icons plugin author will be able to shed more light on what’s happening.
Thanks so much!
Geoff
