Our client owns a Bed & Breakfast and is looking to set up a calendar on their website to display when they’re available for booking(no actual booking functionality needed, just display availability). So, there are two main requests:

    1. She would like to be able to control the length of the timeframe on display. For example, she may only want to show 6 – 12 months at a time or to hide it completely in the offseason. I would imagine that could either be in the form of selecting a timeframe(eg, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months, etc) and then limiting the calendar display to Current Date -> Timeframe Length OR it may be her selecting a particular end date(eg, only display until November, 4th 2018.

    2. Is there a way for her to add these blocks of availability in a more user-friendly way on the back end? Because Events Calendar Pro is using the default WP Post system it can be a little confusing in the dashboard to manipulate the calendar. In this case since it’s more about blocking out spans of time rather than listing off discrete events like a birthday or a meeting, it would be much more user-friendly to be able to see an actual calendar interface rather than the posts.

    Hi Vanessa,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

In terms of the length of time to display the calendar, there isn’t a whole lot of flexibility on this functionality.  You can manually set an event to Hidden at a certain point, and that will achieve that functionality, but there is no way to automate this feature.

If this functionality is a requirement for your intended project, I’d suggest that a third-party developer would be the best way to make this feature happen on a short timeline. ? We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:

You can also add this idea to our Feature Requests, as we tend to implement ideas based on customer feedback, so your input is greatly appreciated:

Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
