Hello! I’m using the Filter Bar plugin with the free version of Events Calendar (both fantastic!). We’re currently allowing users to filter results by category, tag, organizer, and venue but need to add an additional filter that will allow them to filter by a simple “Yes” or “No”. Because our events don’t have costs associated with them, I’m wondering if it’s possible to use the Cost function and change the values from reporting as Free and Other to Yes or No or do I need to purchase the Pro version for this? Thank you for your help!

    Hi Laura.

Filter Bar already includes a “Cost” filter, as you stated, but I don’t quite understand what exactly you’re wanting — where is the Yes/No coming from?

You could buy PRO to add a custom field and then Filter Bar would be able to use PRO’s custom field(s) — reference: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/configuring-filter-bar/#layout

Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Hi, apologies if I wasn’t clear on what we’re trying to do. Essentially, I’d like to know if it’s possible to create events with “Yes” or “No” entered in the Cost field instead of a dollar amount and have “Yes” or “No” appear as checkbox options on the filter bar. Thanks.

The cost field is definitely a numeric field only. 🙂

However, the Filter Bar has some options in its “cost” field settings. Maybe some combination of “cost” value (e.g. zero not blank) can be made to work with Filter Bar’s settings.

Let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks.

Sure, makes sense. I did try changing the cost settings on the Filter Bar prior to submitting the ticket but had no luck so I think we’ll need to purchase the Pro version. Thanks!
