ParticipantHi there! How would I go about changing the background color of the “day number” portion of the month view? I have tried inspecting the element and tried several different snippets of CSS code, but can’t seem to find the right thing to modify. I’ve attached an image outlining the element I want to modify. I appreciate any help you can provide!
Thank you,

MemberGood evening Kelly and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. This will depend a lot on the theme you are using and your settings under Events -> Settings -> Display.
As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Secondly, you might want to experiment with the built-in customizer. Appearance > Customize > the Events Calendar
Hang in there!

ParticipantI posted my system info in a private reply. I have tried playing with the customization in the Appearance menu, but it seems that I can only change the color of the entire table as a whole (including the lines), and not just the bar that includes the day number. Ideally I’d like to keep the lines a lighter/brighter color, and just make the background behind the day number a darker color. If that’s not possible, I can probably find a middle ground that allows the numbers to be visible over the background color, AND the month’s border lines be visible over my background image.
Thank you for pointing out that there are customization options in the Appearance menu though, I didn’t even know that was there. I thought the only options were in the “Options” section of the plugin itself.

ParticipantThat code worked perfectly, thank you very much! It only changed the color of past days, but I duplicated the code and changed “past” to “future” and it replicated the modification for future days as well. I really appreciate all your help!
