I want to change the notes contained in the calendar items that people can download. Right now it just copies the language from the item description and I want the calendar item to give specific instructions like parking etc.
Also there is an ‘ in the text and it doesn’t translate. Any way to fix this?

Thank you for reaching out to us!
Could you please send us a screenshot so we can better understand what you are trying to achieve?
Assuming that you are trying to translate/modify strings in your events, I would recommend you to read the following articles:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/translating-the-events-calendar/
The first one explains how to change any bit of text and string. The second one explains how to translate The Events Calendar.
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!

- When the calendar item opens the text inside the “notes” section is just a duplication of the description of the event. I would rather this have different text such as: “Arrive at 9:00 am and park in the guest parking lot, enter at the main door and check in with XYZ person, then proceed directly to room 123.”

January 24, 2018 at 4:57 am #1434506PatriciaMemberHi Pam,
Regarding your first request: you can open gcal in a new tab by adding the following snippet in your theme’s functions.php file without the PHP opening tag:
https://gist.github.com/nefeline/6b99a2517c86e5e71bdf0dbbd7c03163
Regarding the question about the notes section, it’s certainly possible to modify that, but it would require a customization that is out of the scope of our support.
We do have a list of recommended developers who could help you out with the code if necessary:

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!
Cheers,
Patricia

January 25, 2018 at 12:34 pm #1436354PatriciaMemberHi there,
I tested and the snippet is working as expected here. Could you please make sure that it was included in your current active theme’s functions.php file?
Also, please purge your site and browser cache after this change and let me know how it goes.
Thanks!
Patricia

I hope you’re having a good week/day. Firstly, I’d like to apologize for the delay in response. Thank you for your patience all this while! Our response time is not as fast as usual because we are attending the annual retreat.
Regarding the issue with the snippet, this is still working as expected my local install. Could you please send me a copy of your theme’s functions.php file so I can take a look?
Thanks!
