ParticipantAfter updating to 3.11 I can no longer sort my posts by date in wp-admin.
It is stuck at showing “oldest” posts first.

ParticipantI tried incognito mode in chrome with no luck. I also cleared wp super cache and it’s still not working.

ParticipantHey @accesswinnipeg,
Really sorry to hear about these issues – thanks for reporting them! I’m running 3.11 on my local testing site but don’t see these problems, so I’m curious about a potential code conflict or something on your site.
First, what version of WordPress are you running?
Next, what errors pop up on your site if you head to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);to this:
define('WP_DEBUG', true); That will display PHP errors if any exist, which might be quite useful here.
Let us know if you can make that change and, if so, what you find!
Thanks,

MemberAlso, not to jump in here, but if you could please provide the system information as outlined in this article in a private reply that would be super helpful for us find this issue:

ParticipantI’m running wordpress 4.2.3.
I installed http://m.tri.be/postorderfix as suggested in another thread and it fixed my issue.
Will this patch be implemented into the core release? Should i uninstall the temporary fix?

ParticipantHey @accesswinipeg,
I’m really glad to hear that the temporary fix is working well for you! Do not remove it for now – we are indeed including this fix or a better one in the next release, but for now this is the best solution.
Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns here. Thank you!

Participanti have the related issue of event-date NOT sorting correctly (v3.11.1, ascending, descending works as expected)

i just installed http://m.tri.be/postorderfix as mentioned above, no joy:-(it doesn’t really address date sorting)
pls advise when this will be fixed

ParticipantHey Tom,
Can you deactivate all other plugins on your site and activate a default theme like 2015, then try adding that http://m.tri.be/postorderfix plugin and activating it? What do you find with your site in this state?
I only ask because there is an “ID” column there that is not a default column, so there’s other code related to columns on your site and that code could be the problem here.
Let us know what you find!
