    Hi,
So, I tried to embed the calendar onto a specific page that I named “book your training”.
I tried with the shortcode but it didn’t work, so in settings I changed the slug name for the page where I’d like the calendar to appear on.
I am happy to use that option, the problem is that with that option, the title of the page changes to “archives:” instead of “Book your training”, which I do not like. Where can this be amended please?

Good evening Blandine and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the shortcode not working for you.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I believe that this is because you do not have our the Events Calendar Pro add-on:.
This add-on provides, among other things, the ability to use full calendar shortcodes.

As per your second issue, the title “archives” does appear with certain themes.
In a lot of cases, it is simply a matter of trying a different setting for “Events Template” under Events -> Settings -> Display.

If that does not work, as a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Good evening Blandine,

Thank you for writing back and for the system information.

I am sorry changing that setting did not help.

As a side note, I believe part of the confusion regarding the shortcode might come from the fact that you are using a third-party plugin that provides some basic shortcodes for the Events Calendar.

Unfortunately, that does not include the ability to embed full calendar in normal pages.
For that purpose, you will need a copy of the Events Calendar Pro, which in turn would let you embed the full calendar in a normal page of your choice (thus taking care of the “Archives” issue).

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

Another workaround, if you actually do not use Archives pages on your site would be to simply paste the following snippet in your WordPress theme’s functions.php file: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/

This will allow you to replace the word “Archives” by “Book your training”.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Blandine,

I believe I might have miscommunicated what I meant.
You mentioned that you tried embedding the calendar using a shortcode, but that this did not work for you.

I noticed that you are using The Events Calendar Shortcode version 1.3 to do so. As it turns out, that plugin is made by a third party, not us.

That being said, if you had a the Events Calendar Pro license, you could take advantage of full calendar shortcodes: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/

Thank you for the files. Since you are not comfortable with coding, I tweaked the following file for you: /wp-content/themes/screenr/inc/extras.php

Here is a modified copy of it which should fix your “Archives issue”. I simply changed line 615 of that file:  extras

You simply need to replace the file found in the correct location on your server and you should be good to go.

You might want to contact the theme author to suggest adding a condition of what title to display when the page has a post-type-archive-tribe_events body class

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    URGENT
I changed the extra file with the one you sent me and now my website has crashed.
It is giving me the following message:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare screenr_get_actions_required() (previously declared in /home1/sacertif/public_html/wp-content/themes/screenr/inc/extras.php:720) in /home1/sacertif/public_html/wp-content/themes/screenr/inc/dashboard.php on line 95

I reversed back to the old extra.php file but it still doesn’t work. help.

Ok managed to get my theme working again by uploading the original dashboard.php and extra.php files.
But now I still have the archives problem.
I don’t think that it’s a problem with the theme to be honest because when your plugin doesn’t interfere, it is showing the right title.

    Good evening Blandine,

I am sorry that modifying the file had the effect of crashing the site for you. Yikes!

I also apologize for the delay in answering. Unfortunately, the support department is closed on weekends.

I must say that I am bit confused however by the modified dashboard.php file. I do not recall suggesting any modification to dashboard.php ?

    Just to confirm:

    1. I am using Scrennr version 1.1.0 with the following modified file: extras
    2. This file should overwrite  /wp-content/themes/screenr/inc/extras.php
    3. There should be no other modified files from the zip file you have sent me

This works and has been tested. If you are using a different version of Screenr however, this file might not work.

With that in mind, the “Archives” word is 100% theme related. There is no doubt about that.
There are a number of themes out there that produce that result, including Screenr

This is caused by the  * Setup page header cover section of extras.php

It is defining conditions for all sorts of scenarios and, if none of the scenarios apply, it defaults to “Archive: title”. This is why I am suggesting you might want to let the theme authors know so that they can add a condition for only the title to display when has a post-type-archive-tribe_events body class.

Let me know if you can confirm the points above ?

Hang on has we fix this together.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
