GuestHi,
I was wondering if there is a function that allows a user to unregister from an (unpaid) event? If yes, how can he do it?
Thanks for your help.– Dominik

KeymasterHi Dominik,
Thanks for checking out our plugins! Users can indeed unregister from an event. First, you will need to make sure that the “Require users to log in before they RSVP” setting under Events > Settings > Tickets is checked. Then, when they go back to an event they have RSVP’ed for, they will see a “You have 1 RSVP for this Event. View your RSVPs” message, and they can click to view their RSVPs and change them from that page. Note that they will need to be logged in with the same account that they used to create the reservation to change it.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer

GuestJennifer,
Thanks for your response. So, if I understand you correctly, the user need to have a log in to WP first (and therefor have to have an WP account on my site) before they can register for the event but then they would be able to unregister?

KeymasterDominik,
That is correct. Without them having an account, the system won’t “know” which ticket to change, so they need to be logged in when they register and logged in with the same account to deregister (change their RSVP response).
I hope that helps!

GuestJennifer,
I can’t find the setting you are referring to in my system. Can you show/tell me where it should be?
Thanks for your help.– Dominik

KeymasterHi Dominik,
You can find the setting to require users to be logged in under Events > Settings > Tickets > Login requirements, and the ability for users to change their RSVP response is on the event itself, just above the tickets section (see screenshot). Users will only see it if they are logged in.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

GuestHi Jennifer,
I tried to find this option, but it wasn’t there. After installing the “Registrations for The Events Calendar” Plugin it is there now. Activating the “Require users to log in before they RSVP” however doesn’t have any effect, users can still register vor the event without log in first.
Any idea what goes wrong?– Dominik

KeymasterHi Dominik,
The “Require users to log in before they RSVP” setting is part of Event Tickets. I’m sorry I didn’t specify that before!.
I would recommend taking a look at the following articles:
