GuestHi,
We are considering to buy the pro edition however are unsure whether it fits our needs.
1. Can it display multichoice calendars (similar to Google calendar) e.g. a public display available to customers who access through the website and also other private calendars required for managers and staff?
2. Is the Calendar fully compatible with all wordpress software? We are currently looking to upgrade our website and would need the Calendar to work with new and more powerful wordpress softwareThank you

MemberHi Jon and thanks for getting in touch! I’m glad to hear that you’re considering our plugins for your site. 🙂
Great questions, let’s get to them…
1. Can it display multichoice calendars (similar to Google calendar) e.g. a public display available to customers who access through the website and also other private calendars required for managers and staff?
The Events Calendar is a single calendar, but it makes use of categories and can be filtered and linked to specific category views of the calendar. So, even though all events are tied to the same calendar, it can be filtered much like it is multiple calendars, each with their own unique URL.
The plugin also makes use of a feature called Organizers, where you can associate an event to a specific person, in this case managers and staff members. And, If you add Events Calendar PRO to the mix, then each Organizer automatically gets their page that lists their upcoming events.
Also, you might want to consider looking into our Filter Bar plugin because it allows visitors to filter the calendar by a number of variables, including categories, organizers, venues, time of day, distance and many other options.
2. Is the Calendar fully compatible with all wordpress software?
All of our plugins are built specifically for WordPress and are not compatible with any other platform.
That said, I do want to clarify what you mean by “all WordPress software.” If you are referring to themes and plugins designed and built by other third-party developers (like ourselves), then that is something we cannot guarantee simply because there are thousands and all adhere to different standards.
We build our plugins to be compatible with as many other themes as plugins as possible, but ultimately rely on default WordPress as the baseline for our coding standards. That means our products will work right out of the box with in a default WordPress environment, but could conflict with, for example, a particular theme built by a third-party developer.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know.
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff,
Many thanks for your reply and sorry its taken a week to respond! Needless to say had some time to digest your responses which were very helpful. Could I just go through point 1 again to clarify1. As I understand it then the Events calendar will act as a one stop calendar for anyone coming onto our website, linking into the calendar to see whats on, where and when and even accessing links to our payment/booking system for events
And at the same time, offer us managers OR (Organisers) a full over view of all calendar (categories) within the same page? Also, can I ask if HD images be uploaded to a advertise a particular Event?
Kind regards,
Jon

MemberHi Jon and thanks for following up! I’m so glad the answers have been helpful so far. 🙂
Yes, you understand correctly. The Events Calendar is a one-stop calendar for anyone visiting your website. And, yes, it does include the ability to creates Organizers for each event on the calendar.
You mentioned payment and bookings for events, so I do want to note that you will need our Event Tickets (free) and Event Tickets Plus plugins for creating and selling tickets for events.
Lastly, yes, you can upload high-res image or media files to advertise an event. In fact, events are published just like normal Posts in WordPress, and use the same uploader as well.
Here’s the combination of plugins I would recommend for you based on everything we’ve discussed so far:
- The Events Calendar (free) – This is the core calendar plugin that all our other plugins require.
- Events Calendar PRO – This adds the feature that creates pages for your event Organizers
- Filter Bar – This adds an extra layer of navigation to the calendar that allows visitors to change the calendar view on the fly and filter events by things like organizer, venue, category, time of day, cost, distance and custom fields as well
- Event Tickets (free) – This allows you to create free tickets for your events and is required for the next plugin…
- Event Tickets Plus – This connects Event Tickets to WooCommerce so that you can create paid tickets for events and sell them directly on your website.
Did you have any other questions? Please let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!

GuestHi Geoff,
Thanks for your reply and for clarifying what options there are for organisers with the pro series. We already have a booking system in place with PayPal and would only url link any events to this via our website – are you saying this would be a problem in terms of not using Event Tickets?
Also, we have been trying out the calendar on iPhone – it seems the days of the week are fairly squeezed together on mobile display formats, is there a way to create slightly more space for this via phone view? Many thanks again for your help

MemberOh gotcha! Glad to hear you have a booking system in place!
No worries at all as far as that is concerned. You can absolutely link to the booking system where visitors can purchase tickets rather than using Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus.
The mobile layout should be fairly well optimized for small screens (example screenshot) but it is possible that the styles are being overridden by styles in the theme. You’re welcome to shoot me a link and I can tell for sure or perhaps provide you with some CSS tips that might help.
Cheers!
