Can members of the community post to Event Calendar?

We’re currently using a calendar called Syndical for an online arts magazine that enables members of the community to enter their own events on the calendar. As a nonprofit, we don’t have the staff to enter events FOR people.

Is there a way, with Event Calendar, to enable the public to enter events onto the calendar, or is WordPress the only way that can be done?
