ParticipantI import an ical feed that starts with a number of fields that are all imported to the description field of my events calendar pro. e.g.
Event Type: Arts and Entertainment,Family,Festival,Music,Outdoors
Cost: Full weekend, advance $75.00 / gate, $85.00. Thursday only, gate $15.00; Friday only / Saturday only, gate $37.00
Contact Name: Lynda
Contact Email: [email protected]
Contact Phone: 828-265-9929

Then comes the description, all in a paragraph of jumbled mess in photo view of the calendar. This feed comes from Trumba. My other feeds from google calendar, etc. seem to feed in so the fields match up and the information goes to the right place.
Is there a way to map the Trumba feed’s fields to my Events Calendar fields so the descriptions are what shows up in my photo view instead of the long, jumbled mess?
Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.

KeymasterHi Diane,
Thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry about this import issue. Let me try to help you.
Could you please share with me the link to the feed or the file which you are trying to import and is causing you trouble? I would like to test it.
Thanks,
Andras

KeymasterHi Diane,
Thanks for sharing the feed. I checked it and it looks like there are some fields labelled ‘X-TRUMBA-CUSTOMFIELD’, and these get added to the event description.
Out of the box there is no was to match these filed with the ones in Events Calendar. It would need some custom development, which we are limited in supporting.
Here’s a list of developers who might be able to help you out with this:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/
It looks like Trumba is using a lot of custom fields and since they are custom they are not mapped to anything in Events Calendar. Also there is some ticket information in it, which complicates things as our core plugins don’t support pay-for tickets.
If you manage to remove the lines from the ics file that begin with ‘X-TRUMBA-CUSTOMFIELD’, then you should have a cleaner import afterwards. I know this requires a bit of extra work on your side, but as said, unfortunately we don’t have a solution for this yet.
If you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.
I hope this clarifies it. Let me know if I can be of any more help.
Cheers,
