    Hello,

I am thinking about using this plugin for a client that would host art events. These events are held across an entire county, so there are anywhere from 30-100 events per month. Each time a new event is planned my client currently has to get the details and manually create the event.

We are trying to simplify this process. I am wondering if your plugin will allow us to create a contact form on the front end of the website, in which, our users will be able to fill in the necessary fields to create an event. Once that form is submitted it would go into a pending period, where an administrator would then have to log into the system and either “Accept” or “Deny” that event from showing on the calendar. All events are technically “free” since we will not be accepting payments on the site.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Thank you,

    Hey Cory,

    Thanks for reaching out!

It sounds like our “Community Events” add-on is perfect for your needs here; it adds a “submission form” for events where folks can, well, submit events 🙂

You can learn about this add-on here → https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-community-events/

In terms of event approval and such, there is an option within the Community Events settings that sets the “status” of events upon submission. So, for example, you can set the default status to “Pending Review” so that, when an event is submitted through this form, it does not publish right away. Then you or other site administrators can view the various submissions and selectively “Publish” the good ones, and delete any bad ones.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have further questions about the plugin, or if there’s anything else I can try to help with.

    Thanks,
    George

Oh wow! This seems to be exactly what my client needs.

One other question, how much customization can be done to this form?

    Hey Cory,

    I’m glad to hear that!

In regards to your customization question, the answer is technically “as much customization as you would like to make or are willing to pay for.” That might sound odd, but to elaborate a bit on this, what I mean is that you are only limited by your own coding knowledge. We cannot help at all with customizations, but you can custom code anything you would like.

If you yourself do not know how to make the customizations you would like to make, then unfortunately your best option from there would be to hire a professional to help. We have a list of great developers here → http://m.tri.be/18k1 (and have no affiliation with any of these folks–they’re simple some well-respected names in the community that we’ve compiled to share in situations like this one).

    I hope this information helps!

    Sincerely,
    George
