Participantstrangely the title meta at the top of the browser only shows ‘Mozilla Firefox’ for me – could be a browser issue – will check and let you know

MemberOK. And are you using the Default Event Template or Default Page Template (check Events > Settings > Display)?
July 16, 2013 at 4:42 pm #55590dominikborde
Participantit’s set to full styles – default page template – in v2.0 I had to create the page-event.php based on my default page template – this is also available but displays exactly the same – if I choose ‘default events template’ the striped area does not show at all.

MemberOK. I was just looking and it seemed pretty much unstyled – which it wasn’t last time I looked – so I’m guessing you’re in the middle of some work here.
On the whole though it is sounding like you are going to need to override and customize our templates and basically tweak them so that they mesh nicely with your theme. We can try to point you in the right direction for this, but it is likely to require some PHP and WordPress know-how.

MemberDominik:
Sorry for missing the question about license keys. There have been many and frequent posts about a range of different issues within this thread though and it can be difficult and confusing to keep track, nor do I really want to confuse my answers by broaching multiple different problems in a single reply – for that reason it is normally recommended to create separate threads for separate problems.
In any case, if you are receiving an “Out of installs” error for your license keys please try deleting them from your WordPress installation and then visit the license key management page here: https://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys/
Disconnect from the relevant URL (or URLs) and then re-enter the license key on your WordPress installation. If that still doesn’t solve the problem just let me know.

ParticipantBarry,
I had no intention of growing the thread – was just the way it went.I will try the suggestion re: license keys – with regards to what is needed to modify the template and your assistance is appreciated. If you can provide further info how to proceed we can hopefully close this ticket.
Regards

MemberI’m afraid the connection is timing out for me when I try to visit http://86.24.45.19:8888/ … is the site under maintenance?

ParticipantSorry – should be up now!

MemberThanks! So …
if I choose ‘default events template’ the striped area does not show at all.
So if I look at http://86.24.45.19:8888/about/ I see Wir sind Sozialdynamik as the title and I’m taking that grey background it sits on to be the striped area you were referring to, is that correct?
If so, can you try in the first instance adding this snippet to your theme’s functions.php file? What I’m hoping is that it will make the title display in the grey/striped area.
If it works then we can look at removing the second event title (the one that currently displays).
Bear in mind I don’t have access to your theme code, so this my code is really a piece of guesswork.

ParticipantBarry,
Just tried that but doesn’t seem to do the job – I was looking at the template and the following controls the title:<div class="page-heading span12 clearfix alt-bg “>
Not sure if this info is useful? – I could send you a copy of theme if that is more helpful?
July 19, 2013 at 8:32 am #56090dominikborde
Participanthmm, seems it didn’t let me paste the full code in here! …probably better I send you the template zip!
July 23, 2013 at 3:12 am #56465dominikborde
ParticipantBarry,
Just to let you know the license stuff is ok now!
Regarding the template – could i possibly email you the zip so you can see the code? – I would also appreciate if you can take a look at the Permalink Editor plugin – having hunted for an alternative it seems this plugin is my only option – having designed the site around woocommerce and your product I had everything working perfectly with version 2.0 and all of this has really delayed the project.
I will likely not have the events operational when we migrate (nothing scheduled currently) which means I have some time to deal with this later on. So just to clarify where I am:
1. Need to customise template so the Events behave like v.2.0 did
2. Need to have it working along-side the Permalink Editor plugin (or prevent the conflict somehow)Perhaps you could provide me with an email address to send the plugins to and we can close this thread and converse via email instead?
Regards

MemberDo feel free to send the theme across – it would be ideal if you could make it accessible in .zip format, either via Dropbox or a similar service (or just by uploading it to your WP site) and sharing the link as a private reply and although I can’t offer any guarantees I’ll certainly take a quick look.
Regarding Permalink Editor, I’m not going to be able to look into that one. It sounds like a more complex and time consuming issue to resolve and we just can’t spare the resources to do that, but I would encourage you to contact the authors of that plugin (if you haven’t already done so) and see if they can offer up any help.
