    Hi.

On one of our sites the calendar view is only showing [tribe_events view=”month”]
Have updated to the latest version.

Any suggestions how to fix this?

Good morning Akari and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the shortcode not working on that specific site.
I would love to help you with this topic.

One of the things I am noticing is that the site is displaying [tribe_events view=»month»] and not [tribe_events view=”month”]

As you can tell from the following page, the quote mark format is very important: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/

Here are a couple of things to try:

    1. Fix the quotation marks
    2. Remove the quotation marks completely
    3. Make sure enter the shortcode AND save the page while in Visual mode in the text editor (as opposed to the “text” tab).

If none of this works, could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

    Hang in there!

    Good morning Akari,

Thank you for writing back. I am sorry this did not fix the issue.

By the sound of it, it looks like there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    1. A conflict with another plugin
    2. A conflict with your WordPress theme (this is why I requested a copy)
    3. A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    1. Make a backup of your database
    2. Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Let me know how that goes.

    Hi.

I get a notification that says: Install the lastest version of The Event Calendar, but when I try to do that I get a message that the filepath is already existing.

When logging into FTP i get 2 folder with the name The event calendar, see screenshots.

How can I fix this so that the Event calendar Pro will work properly?

    Good afternoon Akari,

    Thank you for writing back.
It looks like the screenshots did not make it unfortunately.

I get a notification that says: Install the lastest version of The Event Calendar, but when I try to do that I get a message that the filepath is already existing.

I believe you are using a multisite install. Can you confirm ?

If that is correct, this might explain the update message you are receiving.
You can read all about this here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/multisite-license/

Simply put, what is going on is that you literally need to deactivate and delete our plugins to update them (unless you have a multisite license).

The good news is that this will not impact the data of your calendar.

the Events Calendar plugin lives in the “the-events-calendar” folder, while the Events Calendar Pro lives in the “events-calendar-pro” folder.

In doubt, you can delete all of them and reinstall manually from scratch.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Thanks for awesome support.
I deleted all the folders in FTP and installed the calendar and event tickets and now it works perfectly.

    Thanks!
