    If I upgrade to Calendar pro does it allow users to submit events automatically? I currently simply use a contact form and then I add them manually myself. Im just trying to figure out what advantage there is to upgrading

    Thanks for reaching out! Upgrading to Events Calendar PRO allows users to expand the basic calendar functionality provided by The Events Calendar to include more robust display, filtering, and event creation options, such as additional calendar views, location-based searching, and support for recurring events. You can read more about the range of features offered with PRO on the product page linked above!

    What it doesn’t include is support for user-submitted events–for this, you’ll want to pair The Events Calendar with our Community Events add-on. 🙂 You can read more about it at the link provided, or I’d be glad to answer any specific questions you might have about the product!

    Ok, so can I use the events add-on without the pro version

    Hi Bruce,

    Yes, absolutely–if you don’t need the added features and functionality of Events Calendar PRO, you can just as easily use the free version of The Events Calendar with Community Events. Users submitting events will have access to whatever fields are available with your choice of calendar plugin, so feel free to select the one that fits your needs best. 🙂
