Events Calendar PRO works great when viewing the direct page. However when placed via shortcode into another page, it visually looks fine, but will not advance to the next month. Current month reloads each time you try to advance.

    So, works perfectly here:
    http://cfadenver.wpengine.com/events/

But when placed via shortcode here:
    http://cfadenver.wpengine.com/calendar/

It will not advance to the next month.

I would prefer the shortcode method so I have more control over other elements on the page. Thanks.

ps. Theme I am using uses Visual Composer. So if there are known conflicts there maybe that is an issue?

    thanks

    Hey Brice,

Thank you for reaching out to us! I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with our shortcodes. Let me help you to solve this!

I’ve just accessed your site and it looks like you are running an outdated version of The Events Calendar (4.6.2): could you please update it to latest version 4.6.6 and let me know how it goes? Also, please make sure that Events Calendar PRO is up-to-date.

I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue with all Modern Tribe plugins up-to-date and Twenty Seventeen theme enabled, so if the issue persists, it could be associated with your theme or a conflict with one of your active plugins. In this case, I would recommend you to run a Conflicts Test. You can start the test by temporarily deactivating all of your plugins (except Modern Tribe plugins) and changing your theme to another one like Twenty Seventeen and let us know your test results (don’t forget to backup your database before changing anything).

    Thanks!

    Patricia

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for my delay in getting back to you (off over US Thanksgiving Holiday).

All up to date now. Still same issue. Deactivated all plugins and still issues. So I am thinking it is a conflict with the theme itself. Don’t have the option to switch themes.

Any CSS code you have that can override the theme and make Calendar Events code first in heirarchy?

    thanks

    Hi Brice,

I hope you enjoyed your Holiday!

One thing that I noticed while comparing your shortcode calendar with my own is that the URLs are different: when I click on December in your site, I’m directed to this URL:

    calendar/?date=2017-12

In my own site, I’m directed to:

    calendar/?tribe-bar-date=2017-12

And if I try to access the December calendar by using ?tribe-bar-date=2017-12 in your site, it works as expected.

At this moment I would recommend you to edit your page, remove the [tribe_events view=”month”] shortcode, press save and add it again later.

After that, please access your Dashboard and head over to Settings -> Permalinks for a permalink flush. No need to change anything, just visit the permalinks page: WordPress will automatically flush your permalinks once you visit it. Be sure to clear your site cache and browser cache after this change.

Does it help you to solve the problem? If the issue persists, please let me know and I’ll be happy to help you with the next steps.

    Cheers,

    Patricia

Again sorry for the long delay. Got sidetracked on other projects. You are correct in that it is a theme conflict. I am too far into the project to change themes. Not sure if you have any code override you could give me that would correct situation?

You are right the next month button is not rendering the right url. I can get it to work like you when I type in the proper address. That is: ?tribe-bar-date=2017-12

The normal click eleminates the “tribe-bar” part of the address for some reason. Any work arounds you know of?

    thanks!

    Hi Brice!

Thanks for your confirmation regarding the theme conflict! I believe one option you have here is to set up a rewrite rule (via server or using a plugin like Redirection): you can redirect the traffic from calendar/?date=XXXX-XX to calendar/?tribe-bar-date=XXXX-XX.

You can also contact the theme author or a suitable developer to build a solution if you want them to work nicely.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!

    Cheers,

    Patricia
