ParticipantJavascript is not working on the Add Event page due to this error.
We are running https.
No, I can’t turn off all plugins or change the theme to 2014 as the site is too active.
Hoping this gets the issue bumped up on the list of important bugs that need to be fixed. Javascript has not worked on ‘Add Events’ page now for close to three weeks due to issues caused by updates to the plugin.

ParticipantHey there,
Sorry to hear this!
Are you the same person who made this other thread, just from a different account? → https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/bumpdown-is-not-a-function/
The language is very similar so I just wanted to check on this.
↑ This may seem like a trivial thing to ask, but it actually does matter here because I cannot recreate this bug, but if we have multiple different folks reporting this, then that’s huge evidence there’s a legitimate bug here.
I will continue to try to recreate this issue and see what we find.
Stay tuned!

ParticipantHey there,
One thing to check in the meantime:
If you head to Settings → General in your site’s wp-admin, are WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) settings using http:// or https:// ?
If they’re using http://, try specifying the https:// URLs there, save changes, and let us know if that helps at all!
Thanks,

ParticipantHi George and thank you for looking into this issue.
We are using a multisite.
Looking at one of our sites that was experiencing this issue I see that the Site Address URL was set to http://
Changing to https:// removed the bumpdown error.
I’m not sure, but I would expect we will get many, many issues with mixed content – references to both secure and nonsecure resources – on pages.
One is supposed to have a WordPress site be able to be non-secure for visitors and secure for administrators.
We suspect there must be some sort of problem in the plugin code.
Let me know if I can provide any more info.
Thanks again for the reply and looking into this issue.

ParticipantThanks for reporting this, I am glad to hear about this progress. You report wanting to have a site with “both secure and nonsecure resources” — this is unfortunately not something our plugins are currently handling well, and while we have rolled out a number of fixes for this, there appears to be some persisting bugs that we are working on.
So things should generally work okay for now, but in specific situations where you’re trying to roll out HTTP front-end, HTTPS back-end, issues will likely arise.
I’m sorry about the trouble arising from that; I will update this thread with news about the bug fix and when it is coming. At this time, there is not a specific launch date but hopefully before 2017 is upon us. 🙂
Sincerely,
GeorgeDecember 20, 2016 at 3:51 pm #1208568George

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
