ParticipantI am still working on an issue that I asked about a few months ago. I have used the suggested code snippet to change my page titles: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/altering-or-removing-titles-on-calendar-views/ which has also updated the titles in my browser tabs.
I’m having an issue with the single events page, the browser title tab is missing the Event Name. I thought the title was supposed to be “Upcoming Events | Event Name | Page Name” (per your sample site) ours just has “Upcoming Events | Page Name”
http://entertainment.accessvegas.com/index.php/event/donny-marie-osmond-6/2016-11-05/
I have the page title as: “Upcoming Las Vegas Concerts” – we have this not displaying on the actual page, just in the browser title. I have deactivated our Yoast plugin and that hasn’t changed what is displaying in the title tab. Our previous developer was supposed to customize the titles in our browser tabs, it wasn’t ever done the way we wanted, so not sure if she did something to a core file that prevents the event name from displaying in the tab?
Can you please point me in the direction of what I need to do to get the Event name to display in the Browser Title Tab?
Thank you!

KeymasterHello Ted,
Thanks for reaching out! Interesting issue you have, let me try to help you solve that.
Indeed, the browser title should be “Upcoming Events | Event Name | Page Name”, just like on our demo site. I also tested this on a local install, just to make sure. 🙂
So, there could be some customization in your theme that changes this, or it could be caused by a conflicting plugin.
As a first I would recommend to run a test for conflicts based on this guide.
Let me know the results and we’ll work from there.
Cheers,

ParticipantI have found that our developer put an override in our theme for the Browser title, that has been removed and this issue has been resolved.
A further question, now that I have removed the override, the separator has changed. It used to be | but now it is –. Is this a setting somewhere? Where can I change the separator to |? I believe that is what is on the sample site.

KeymasterHi Ted,
I’m happy to hear you found the source of that issue. Cool!
Yeah, the separator should be |, if it’s not that, then again, the theme, some other plugin (like YoastSEO) or some custom coding can change that.
The testing for conflicts should help you find the source of this as well. (I see you are using WP Rocket. Don’t forget to empty the cache after changing something.)Let me know if this gets you further.
Cheers,
