ParticipantWe had the Pro Calendar in place and have been putting events on that page. Today I picked up the Community Events plugin and see how that plugin wants to put it’s events in a separate area. I picked up the Community Events plugin assuming that we could have the events on the Calendar Pro page blended with the community events.
Is it possible to set this up?
Here’s our Events calendar using the Pro plugin – http://associatedministries.org/events/
– We have an “add Event” button we created that lets a user email an event submission. This the function we wanted to better automate with the Community Events pluginHere’s the new Community Events URL – http://associatedministries.org/events/community/list
Thanks, PR

MemberGood evening Peter and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Actually, the Community Events plugin does not put events in a separate calendar. It all fits under the normal calendar that you are used to.
There are however a couple of things that are different, here are the main differences when you add the Community Event plugin:
- Users can submit events
- Users can view and edit only their own events
- You control if user submitted events are automatically published or not
In fact I believe the Community Events plugin will do exactly what you are looking for provided you set it up to your needs.
If you haven’t done so already, I would recommend reading this guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-community-events/
Once everything is setup, the only thing that you’ll need to do is to change where your previous button links to. Instead of sending an email, it should link to the Community Events add page: http://playformobile.monsiteoublog.com/events/community/add
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantThat for your feedback Geoff and I’m glad to hear I can set this up as desired. Can you help me set this up in manner described. I have reviewed the startup guide. Here’s what I’d like to do:
1) Keep the Events calendar at this URL: http://associatedministries.org/events/
2) Make sure that the Community Events added by our community are being added to the URL above.
Would it be possible to use the URL above? Could we also keep the current events (Events Calendar Pro) in place during this change? Lastly, can we keep the same look and feel as we have setup with the Events Calendar Pro plugin.
Thanks,

MemberGood evening Peter,
Of course, I will gladly help you set things up.
So let’s go over this point by point if you don’t mind.1) Keep the Events calendar at this URL: http://associatedministries.org/events/
That’s perfect, nothing to do there 🙂
2) Make sure that the Community Events added by our community are being added to the URL above.
Once again, nothing special to do there, just make sure that events submitted by your community are approved or that their default status is set to “Published” (as established in Events -> Settings -> Community).
However, just to be clear, the Community add form and the Community list form need to have their own URL (as established in Events -> Settings -> Community).
Would it be possible to use the URL above? Could we also keep the current events (Events Calendar Pro) in place during this change?
As stated before, the Community Events actually does not use a different calendar. It uses the exact same calendar you have been using all along. The only difference is that more people can now contribute (via the Community add and the Community list pages)
So yes, you can keep the current events in place during the change and even after.
Lastly, can we keep the same look and feel as we have setup with the Events Calendar Pro plugin.
Absolutely, since it’s not a different calendar, your current look will remain.
What you might want to do however is style the Community Add and List form slightly differently if you don’t like how they look now.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
