ParticipantI looked around for a solution to this and found this previous post, however the steps didn’t work for me.
I’m trying to reassign an event to a different user. I installed the User Role Editor plugin and created a new role. I assigned the users to this new role (previous subscriber roles). I went through and assigned the tribe permissions to this new role. When I edit an event, the only author permissions are the admin and the original event creator (if there is one).
Is it possible to assign existing events to different community users?
Thanks,

MemberHey Joe,
Thanks for reaching out to us! I’ll help you here, but before we jump into the actual solution I want to be sure about what we are trying to solve…
Do you want to create an event in the back-end as an admin and then assign this event to a subscriber (or the role you created)? Is this correct?
Please let me know about it,

ParticipantThat is correct. The primary goal is to be able to reassign admin created events to a different role. Ideally, I’d like to be able to assign any event to another user, even one created by a different community member.
Thanks!

MemberThanks for clarifying Joe!
I guess there’s nothing specific to events here, you can re-assign the author as you would do for post, page or any other content type (https://cloudup.com/cL3mtM7cFke):
- Go to the edit event screen.
- Under Screen Options make sure the author box is enabled.
- Select the new author (the box will probably show in the bottom of the screen).
- Click Update to save the changes.
- Ready!
This should do the trick, when the post author is changed, the user should be able to see this event in their My Events section in the front end of the site.
Please give this a try and let me know if it works for you,

ParticipantHi Nico,
Thanks for your help. The author box in the event admin only shows the administrator user of the site. Is there a specific role or permissions that a user needs? I’ve tried assigning a bunch of different roles to a non-admin user and I still can’t get their name to appear in the author drop-down. The only time it appears there is if that specific user submitted the event first through the community events plugin form.
Thanks.

MemberThanks for the heads-up Joe!
Looks like Better Author Metabox plugin addresses this issue. I must admit I thought the list would include all site users but as you say it doesn’t!
Please give the plugin a try and let me know if it works for you,
