    Hello Geoff,

sadly the shortcodes are not working at all.
I added a new site with [tribe_events] regarding the docs you provided ( https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/) and this is the result:
    http://dg-info.de/new/test-kalender/

    NOTHING.
I understand that you cannot give support for everything. But frankly, the calendar was working perfectly before the last update.
    Now, nothing is working really.
The css workaround is not really a big help as this does not include the templae basis of my regular pages with header slider, sidebar and so on.
Thats why i was asking for the template. What template do i have to add in the default-template.php in the view/src folder so that the calendar can render my standard page with the calendar included ?!
    Please help me !

    Good evening Bernhard,

    Thank you for writing back.

That is very unfortunate (to say the least).
Because of that I went ahead and took a closer look at your system information.

If that system information is still accurate, it appears that you have a valid license for Pro, but that the Events Calendar Pro is actually not activated on your website.

This is why you cannot use the shortcodes.

Head over to : https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/ and grab the latest version of the Events Calendar Pro.

With that in hand, you should be able to install the plugin (and activate it) using the Plugins > Add New interface.

I understand that you cannot give support for everything. But frankly, the calendar was working perfectly before the last update.
    Now, nothing is working really.

I understand how frustrating this situation can be for you.
It’s absolutely not fun when things worked a certain way and all of a sudden they now longer do.

One way to prevent this in the future would be to have a staging / test / local environment with a Clone of your website on. In fact, this is actually very good practice for any WordPress related update ( WordPress itself, plugins, themes ).

Even though everybody involved (including our team) does not want things to break or to stop working, the reality is that updates in the WordPress realm will sometimes have that effect.

With that in mind, there is still a lot I can help you with.
If you do not object, I would like to offer to help you get as far as possible.

The css workaround is not really a big help as this does not include the template basis of my regular pages with header slider, sidebar and so on.

I believe this can be worked around using the shortcodes (when you get the Events Calendar Pro activated).

Thats why i was asking for the template. What template do i have to add in the default-template.php in the view/src folder so that the calendar can render my standard page with the calendar included ?!

Normally, at least under my version of Divi (3.0.2.1), selecting the Default Page template for Events Template under Events -> Settings -> Display does the trick.

If that does not work under your install, would you mind trying with the vanilla version of Divi (not your child theme) ?

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

With Divi enabled – not the child theme – i get exactly the same output. I left Divi activated, so you can see …

    Shortcodes are not working either.

    So what now ?

I disabled all plugins and re-enabled them one by one. This does not solve anything.

    Good evening Bernhard,

I am quite taken aback that this yielded no results.

With that in mind, I scoured this thread and your dev environment in its most minute details.

I believe I have found something that had escaped my eye before: your .htaccess file is not writeable (probably because of file permissions).

As a result, permalinks cannot be rebuild when going to Settings > Permalinks.

To fix this, you need to: change the file permissions on your .htaccess file and re-save your permalinks.

Look carefully for any validation message after you save them.

I believe this should restore the page template once again.

    Hang in there!

I tried to ask elegantthemes what templates i have to edit and this is their response :

    Hi there,

I apologize but since it's a 3rd party plugin we cannot offer support because we are not familiar with the way the plugin was built. You should contact the plugin authors about this, they should tell you which files to be edited in your case.

I tried your approach : “Permalink structure updated.”
