ParticipantFor some reason, every single one of my events in August suddenly shows as sold out. I checked each ticket and the number of tickets available are all greater than the number purchased. I can’t figure out why this happened as I haven’t made any changes. I updated my plugins but it didn’t fix the issue. Please help!

KeymasterHi Stephanie,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
As a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:- A conflict with another plugin
- A conflict with your WordPress theme
- A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
- Make a backup of your database
- Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
In addition, can you take a screenshot of how one of these events/tickets look on the backend so that I can try to replicate the scenario on my end as well?
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantHi Jamie,
Thank you for this. I am a small business with little to no tech experience, so the steps you suggested are a bit daunting. I just updated plugins and created a new event and the same issue is happening. Can you please take a look at the site and the information I provided? Can we discuss this live on a chat or a call so we can troubleshoot these steps together? I’ll need more detailed instructions on how to “simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.” Someone else set up wordpress for me so I have no idea how to do this, or how to revert back. If it helps, this issue appeared out of nowhere – I had not updated plugins or made any changes at all in several months. My business is at a complete standstill since it appears that events that have no bookings are sold out. Please help!
Thank you,

KeymasterHi Stephanie,
Thanks for your response.
Unfortunately we cannot provide phone support or live chat at this time, but I will do my best to help you here.
It looks like there is a customization in place that lists the number of tickets sold in Month View. That is not something that we have available out of the box, so perhaps your developer would have more information on how to fix that customization.
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantThanks, my developer was a one-time sort of thing, so I’m on my own on this. How would I check the “number of tickets sold in month view”? Also, I am fairly sure no customizations were done as I set up The Events Calendar initially and the developer had no experience with it. Can you please give me some more information on that? Also, why would this just happen out of the blue? I added 3 events to September a few days ago, and choose the ticket limit of 15 for each. None have sold, yet all are marked sold out on my calendar. So not sure the number of tickets sold in the month could be the issue? Any other ideas?

KeymasterHi Stephanie,
Perhaps it is something related to your theme or another plugin that adds that functionality.
Another option would be for you to install the third-party plugin, Health Check, which can mimic a bare WordPress install while your site visitors still see your site the way that it normally appears.
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
Jaime
