Hello,
We’re using a lot of scheduled facebook imports from different facebook pages and sometimes, the same event gets imported twice the 2 appended to the slug, I checked on facebook, there are no duplicates and the event facebook url is the same.
any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks for reaching out–what a strange issue! We’d be glad to take a closer look and see if we can figure out what’s happening here.
First off, just to confirm, are any of the duplicated events posted on one Facebook page and then shared on another page you’re importing from? (This doesn’t seem terribly likely to be the culprit, but it may be helpful information!)
If you’d be willing to share links to the pages you’re importing from, we’d like to try a few test imports and see if we can replicate your results. Are you able to provide those links to us here? If you’d prefer to keep the links private, you can post a private reply to this message, which ensures that only our support team members will be able to read it.

So far I’m not able to replicate this issue with any type of import from the linked Facebook page, so I’d love to get some more details about your site setup, if you wouldn’t mind! Would you be willing to take a moment to share your system information with us? Thanks so much for following up to share that information with us! On further review, it appears that your duplicated events may be related to a known EA bug that’s currently ticketed in our systems. This bug appears to be correlated with the use of special characters in event content. If you should have any other events that are still being duplicated upon import, can you try removing any special characters (such as « and ») from their titles and testing again? Let us know if this change resolves your issue–if so, I’ll add your information from this thread to our ongoing bug ticket.
