Can you give me advice on what theme I should buy and how much work is involved in achieving the following –

I want my website to look similar to this:

    http://avidxchangemusicfactory.com/events/

This is the page that most closely resembles the layout that I want on my home page

What I want to keep: the featured events, the simple uncluttered list of events that only provides very limited information (picture, name of event, location and date)

The buttons at the bottom – except instagram and youtube

What I want to change: I want the featured events section to stretch across the entire screen. I want to be able to choose to have a different number of featured events -1,2,3,4,5

I don’t want the featured events to be exactly the same as this website. They should be static (don’t move). I still want this is look slick – for example if there are three featured events I want the one in the middle to be largest and the two at the side to be smaller

The background theme (dark wood) is too dark. I want something that looks more spacious

Events should only say “more info” on my website…not “tickets and more info”. The box should be in blue rather than pink

I’d like to copy a number of features from different websites. Could you let me know if this requires a lot of coding or is very simple and how I should go about it

    2. Switch between view types

Under the filter menu (before the list) I want there to be options to view the calendar in different ways – list view (the default), week view and map view. I want the buttons to look like they do in this website:

    http://events.unc.edu/?date=2016-05-08&view=week

    3. Week view

I want to copy the week view shown here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/showcase/christ-church/

    4. Filtering between events

I don’t like the option to search and filter events in avidxchangemusic website

I prefer the one featured here:

    Milkwood

although I think the way that it is displayed could still be improved upon

Visitors to my site will want to select at least one of the following filter options:

Sports, social, pubs & clubs, health & help

    And one of the following:
Men only, women only, men & women

    5. Select your region

I’d like a page to be set up like this

    https://hikeitbaby.com/find-your-city/

Each of these should link to a webpage with the calendar filtered for that region

    6. Header

I want a small, unobtrusive header with the following options in menu:
    Home
    About us
    Blog
    Contact us

I also want the twitter and facebook icon where people can follow with a click

I also want “are you an event organiser – register for free” option like here:
    http://events.eightlane.org/latest/

    8. Colour Themes

I want something simple that looks professional and doesn’t clutter or overload visitors to the site

I like the simplicity of the blue and white here

    Gorge Current

but the site doesn’t look professional enough overall

I was thinking of the genesis theme here

    Open Source Genesis Framework

is this wise to use and straight forward to install?

    9. Pop up

After being on the site for 30 seconds, I’d like a pop up banner to appear asking visitor to like us on facebook twitter
    https://www.culinarylocal.com/events/

Good evening Colm and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.
We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization or for website design.

With that in mind, all the examples you have provided include substantial customization of their respective WordPress templates.

My best advice to copy these sites would be to get started by using a recent popular third-party WordPress theme such as Avada or Divi.

Once you have a basic structure going, you might want to hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customizations for you.

If you prefer to give it a try on your own,  I would recommend reading our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good afternoon Colm,

    Yes absolutely.

You should use a popular third-party WordPress theme such as:
