ParticipantIn the events tab that shows the list of all events in the dashboard, the admin needs to edit and review the various events. And, sorting and filtering does not work for the various categories assigned to the events. Is there a function that can add a column that sorts and searches by category? Right now, if I enter a category in the search bar, no results are found. And, there is not a column available for the event categories.

MemberHi stephenschildbach,
Good question. I’m afraid there isn’t an easy way to filter event by category directly in the events list like that. However, you can still see all events within a specific category by heading to Events > Event Categories, then clicking on the number of posts in the Count column for a category (screenshot).
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantI appreciate the reminder that there is a number of events/posts in the Event Categories area. That is not really the information my client wants because of how much they monitor one category — “Featured Events”. Although, upon further research I think we’ve both forgotten another solution that I found, or maybe just I’ve forgotten. There is a “Filter” above the Events list in the dashboard. You CAN choose filter > EventsCat > Featured events > Apply and my client gets their result. Ideally, they asked I make a tab like the “Pending” tab that I created. See screen shot. Do you think it would be possible to make a Featured Events tab like the pending tab? Or, should I just tell them to use the filtering system I mention? Also, do you notice the 3 invisible links next to “All (125)”. Would you have any idea why the pending, published, etc… links disappeared to the right? I know these are slightly different questions but they all relate to the events page in the dashboard. My clients requested all of this be fixed and improved.

MemberAh, good call–adding that filter is definitely a good direction in this case. Nice work!
The invisible links seems to be something else altogether. Are you using another plugin to manage your admin area that might have an effect here? Or do the links come back when using a default WordPress theme or deactivating other plugins? It would be great if you could run through these steps so we can pinpoint any conflicts there.
Cheers!
