adding SMS as another option for delivering a purchased ticket

Hi,

I am planing to use woo ticket plugin for my next project and I was wondering if the plugin is supporting or can support purchased ticket delivery via SMS as well. My intention is to allow customers to choose between two ticket delivery options (e-mail – PDF or SMS) when checking out. If you are NOT supporting this feature at the moment and you do not have plans to add this feature in the future then would you please point me to the right direction on how can I customize the plugin to accommodate this feature.

Great question. The short answer is that the plugin does not currently support SMS delivery right out of the box. Tickets are delivered by email after the transaction has been completed.

I do see that there are third-party add-ons for WooCommerce that integrate SMS. So, for example, if you are using The Events Calendar + WooCommerce + WooTickets, you may be able to use one of the additional WooCommerce add-ons to integrate that functionality. I have not personally tested any of the available options out there, but it might be worth looking into and perhaps even reaching out to those developers to see if there is a match there.

We’re always taking new feature suggestions on our UserVoice page. I see someone has made a similar suggestion recently, which you could add your vote to, or even comment on to share how it would be useful for you as well.

Yes, the options I searched were specific to WooCommerce. We have ticketing add-ons for Easy Digital Delivery and WP Ecommerce as well, so it’s possible there are integration available for those as well.

Sorry I don’t have any specific recommendation for you, but I do think WooCommerce tends to have the biggest selection of available integrations, both from them and third party developers. That might be a good starting point for you.
