ParticipantHello.
I have Community Events set up so that anyone can post events that need to be approved later. However, I would like them to be able to add a value to a certain custom. I tried editing the “custom module” to add the field, but while the field showed in the form, it was not saved when the form was submitted. When adding events from the admin interface this custom event can be added without problem.
This question is similar to this one, where it is implied that this can be done. However, I have not found a way to do this, and if someone could point me in the right direction that would be appreciated.
Thank you.

MemberGood morning Kenneth and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. My first recommendation, if you haven’t already, would be to read our Themer’s guide.
The reason I am mentioning this is because if I understand correctly, you want your Community users to be able to add their own custom fields. If that’s not accurate, please let me know.
If I did understand correctly however, than this is a customization on our existing functionalities. As much as we encourage our users to customize the plugin to their needs, we do not offer full support for customizations. The best we can do is help you get started 🙂
Another approach would be to hire one of our recommended customizers to program the customization for you.
Could you confirm that I understood what you are trying to do correctly ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHello!
Yes, you understood me correctly!
I managed to implement the functionality that I wanted (using AJAX after the event had been added, if anyone runs into a similar situation), so this issue got resolved. Thank you anyway for your time!
