Is there a way of adding the user’s IP address to the results email?

For example, Joe Bloggs submits his event via the Community Events form and then we get an email with the details and a link so we can confirm it.

Can that email also have Joe Bloggs’ IP address? This would help us reduce spam and we can then block the sender’s IP address and the servers they used if we want to.

    Hi David,

You can change the default status for community events to “draft” (under Events > Settings > Community), which will give you the chance to review submissions and check for spam before they are published to your site. You can also enable admin email notifications when new events are submitted (also under Events > Settings > Community). However, adding the IP address would require a customization, which is a bit outside the scope of support that we are able to provide here in the forums.

If you would like to give it a shot, our themer’s guide is the place to start! We also have a list of recommended developers that you could contact if you would like to have the code done for you.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
