ParticipantDear support,
I’m using Woocommerce with Events Calendar Pro and we get many questions about the date of the event, because this isn’t shown in the confirmation e-mails. We are selling tickets for weekly events, so it would be very handy to show the event date instead of the order date in the confirmation mails. Is there a shortcode for the event date or is there another way to handle this?
Many thanks in advance.

ParticipantHey Luc,
Thanks for reaching out. There unfortunately is not just a simple shortcode that would enable this, but there are indeed some customizations that can be made to the code to enable this.
Before we get there, though, can you clarify exactly what you mean here a bit? What I mean is, there are usually two emails sent with each purchase of tickets with our WooCommerce Tickets add-on: the confirmation email immediately after the order is made, and then an email with the actual tickets to the user.
1. Are you only talking about adding the event date to the confirmation email here?
2. If so, then I’m curious why you would want to modify this email – I’m not belittling your request to do so! And can definitely help with showing you how to do it. But it’s an interesting thing because the two emails are separate for separate purposes. Specifically, the “Tickets” email holds the event date, venue, etc. – but the order confirmation email is more of just a receipt, so it should keep the order date (even if we add the ticket purchase date, too). Let me know what your thoughts are on these points and if you agree.
3. To get started on making this customization to the order email, you will end up needing to make some code changes. You can learn about our Templating system, as that’s what I’ll recommend using if we get there → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
Give that article a read to start getting familiar with how our template override system works – if you want to proceed with making this customization, then we’ll basically just be duplicating the existing “Confirmation email” template and just adding an “Event date:” field.
Thanks!

ParticipantDear George,
Thanks for your swift reply.
In fact the underlying issue is that tickets aren’t been sent automatically and the solutions posted in other threads are ambiguous. Se we hoped to include the date of the event in the confirmation mail, which would do for us (and our customers).Upon completing a transaction, nothing happens. Tickets are only sent when selecting the ‘resend mail option’ “Tickets” in a booking. Any advice, then?
Thanks again; best,

ParticipantHey Luc,
Thanks for the information! Before proceeding however, I just want to be 100% clear about what you mean by this:
Tickets are only sent when selecting the ‘resend mail option’ “Tickets” in a booking.
1. Can you share a screenshot of this option?
2. What is a “booking”? Can you take a screenshot of one on your site admin so I can see what you’re referring to?
Just want to better understand things here! If we can get the default tickets to send properly on your site, that is a much better solution than customizing code – which can still be done, of course! 🙂 But things should work correctly first before adding layers of customization.
Thank you!

ParticipantDear George,
I agree with you about the order of stops to solve the problems.
Please find the screenshot here: http://www.railpromo.nl/temp/woocommerce.pngOnly when sending the Tickets item and save the order, the Ticket mail will be send to the customer.

ParticipantThanks for this information Luc. I’d first just like to apologize for these issues that you’re experiencing, and for what you said was an unpleasant experience on our forums with threads being ambiguous and such…
That is definitely not my intent here. I’d love to help truly get to the bottom of these issues on your site.
Unfortunately, after looking at that screenshot and thinking about this a bit, I believe there is a code conflict of some kind on your site that is interfering with the sending of the mail.
So I’m curious about two things:
1. Can you share your system information with us? You can learn to do so by reading this article → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
2. Can you activate a make a test event, with some test Free tickets just for the next few steps?
3. Once you have this test event and test tickets, activate a default theme on your site like Twenty Twelve. Then, try buying a Free ticket on that test event and see if you get emailed properly.
4. If not, then leave the default theme active. Then, proceed with deactivating each plugin on your site, except for these three: The Events Calendar, WooCommerce, and The Events Calendar: WooCommerce Tickets. After the plugin deactivations, try buying another test ticket on that event and see if you get emailed properly at all.
Let us know what you find Luc, thank you for your patience with this so far.
Cheers,
