ParticipantHi,
On my Community Events form that visitors can submit an event the dropdown options for Venue Details, Organiser Details, do not work. When clicking on the drop down menu, nothing appears, so you cant select either an existing option or add a new one.
I am using Bridge theme https://themeforest.net/item/bridge-creative-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/7315054 and have tried activating the default 2017 wordpress theme and it works ok in that, so it must me a theme conflict, do you think?
If so, how can I resolve this?
Another thing is, how can I change OrganiZer to read OrganiSer (with the S instead of Z) in all forms and pages etc, as in my country it is spelt with an S.
My site is not live yet, so PM me or email me direct if you want a temp login to check it out.
Thanks for your help.

MemberHi, Tom.
1)
Please provide a screenshot of the issue you’re describing so I know exactly what you’re referring to. A video screencast may assist here too. It’s up to you…
2)
Please see https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/relabeling-the-venue-organizer-sections-in-event-meta/ to change the labels as you desire.

MemberTom, I tested and it works like this: https://cl.ly/183I3a0p3S3a (short video)
Regarding your font issue, it’s likely from your theme affecting it here, but if you need assistance figuring it out, please provide a link to view your Community Events form.

ParticipantHi There,
I understand how it should work, but it doesnt. I cannot add new venues etc or choose existing ones. The dropdown field doesnt work!
Also, looking at the page in Google Chrome it shows the plugin is creating errors: https://www.screencast.com/t/LCR2pB5HvG
I am finding this support from you to be very slow. Is there a way I can email or PM you a temporary login to my site to take a look at the issue and get this resolved ASAP?
Kind Regards,
TomJanuary 26, 2017 at 4:04 pm #1224800Cliff
MemberTom, that bumpdown error was resolved in today’s plugin update.
Please try the latest version and see if that fixes it for you.

MemberI saw a lot of console errors at your Community Events page. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Sixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

ParticipantAs I’ve mentioned before I have already done this and it works fine with all my plugins activated in WordPress 2017 theme.
But when I activate Bridge theme this is where it stops working. Please can you take a look using the information I supplied previously?
I just need to know if you can fix this otherwise how can I get my money back and I’ll just buy a different calendar plugin.

MemberI apologize for not remembering that part. I see it in your initial reply.
Could you please provide a copy of the latest version of Bridge theme so I can give it a quick test locally?
Also, have you inquired about this with their support?
FYI: We don’t officially (Scope of Support / Terms) support non-default themes but I can try to help a bit extra here.January 29, 2017 at 9:23 pm #1226028Tom

MemberUpon initial activation of the parent theme (I didn’t install the child theme), I got these WP_DEBUG messages (which you should report to the theme author):
https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/4c5cd950772574b7bf583a0e471971c5
I went to the Community Events form and it threw this huge console error: https://cl.ly/3Q281T3V0B2d
(If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)Then I went to wp-admin > Events > Settings > Community tab > and unchecked the “Use visual editor for event descriptions” option and that major console error went away.
However, the bumpdown error kept displaying from /wp-content/plugins/event-tickets/common/src/resources/js/bumpdown.js?ver=4.4.1
But it was due to /wp-content/themes/bridge/js/plugins.js: https://cl.ly/032M352z2Y1R
You should report this conflict to your theme developer as well.
Still, the Venue and Organizer dropdowns did work for me even though these console errors happened. Therefore, maybe your issue is with one of the plugins they require/recommend or another one of your plugins getting in the mix here too.
If you hear from them that they suggest something specific in our code to be changed, please pass that message along to us.
I hope this info helps!

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Thanks for your reply. I have passed on to the theme developers and awaiting a reply.
In the meantime I have deactivated all of the Plugins apart from WPBakery Visual Composer, The Events Calendar, The Events Calendar PRO, The Events Calendar: Community Events.
I am still having the same issue with the dropdown boxes not working on this form: https://www.shaynesutton.com.au/local-events/community/add (you need to log into the site first using the details I sent you previously).
I am unsure where to go from here. Can you confirm that you have the same plugins activated as I do on your test website with Bridge theme and Visual Composer installed and it is working for you?
Could it be because my site is HTTPS rather than HTTP or because I am serving pages over Cloudflare?
Thanks again for all your help. I really do want this plugin to work as we are very keen to launch the site ASAP once we have fixed this issue.

MemberI activated Bridge again, then used its automated installer to install and activate Visual Composer, then tried /events/community/add again and it still worked.
I know others use Visual Composer and since I wasn’t able to replicate this issue and we haven’t heard reports from other users about Visual Composer and our latest versions, I’d guess it’s something specific to your site setup or configurations.
I’ve tried to help about as much as we can, since we don’t provide support for third-party plugins and themes, per our Scope of Support / Terms.
But hopefully your theme support makes progress with the errors reported to them, and maybe you can try setting up a test site (different domain or your localhost) and try to troubleshoot things there. If you do come up with a series of steps, I’ll try to replicate the issue myself and help further if I can.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
If you need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.

ParticipantHi Cliff,
As per your suggestion, our Theme support team, has fixed the issue with the dropdown menu, however there is few issues has been seen with dropdown and with others:1. Dropdown:
• The dropdown is now allowing us to select the organiser, venue etc. from the available option, but issue arises when once you check the available option and at the same time if you click the outside menu then the dropdown menu doesn’t go away.
(please refer to screenshot 1)
• Similarly, when we click the any of the dropdown option, the form screen start flickering.2. Section (Event time and date):
• The date and the time does shows option to choose date and time from the option, only allows user to fill the manually.
(please refer to screenshot 2)3. Section (Organiser Detail):
• In this section, we can only select the organiser from the dropdown list only, but there is no option for any text field to fill new detail for the new organiser.
(please refer to screenshot 3)4. Venue Detail:
• Same issue as Section (Organiser Detail)
(please refer to screenshot 4)5. Map Not showing when user submit the event:
(please refer to screenshot 5)6. Submit Blank event form:
• When we submit the black form then only the text filed option will appear to fill the new details. However, all the above mention appears to be same here as well.
(please refer to screenshot 6)So, I would like to request you again fix my issue ASAP.
Thank you
Regards
