ParticipantCurrently I add custom styles to the Google Map views by editing two files:
- `src/resources/js/embedded-map.js`
- `src/resources/js/tribe-events-ajax-maps.js`
Of course, these files are overwritten every time the plugin is updated (which is frequently) so my styles and customisations are lost every time.
Do you have a built in ability to do this? Or is there another plugin/function hook that would allow me to make these changes automatically?

KeymasterHi Stephen,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
I’d recommend taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you the views and templates that can be copied and edited, so that you won’t lose your work every time you need to update the plugin.

Take a look at the modules/map.php template and see if that is what you are looking for.
Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantSorry but this is not an adequate solution.
Setting custom map styles involves changing the Javascript function for the map. Do you not have a provision for this?

KeymasterHi Stephen,
I’m sorry that this was not the solution that you were looking for.
You can try to create your own Javascript plugin with your code so that it will not be lost with updates, but of course this is not within the scope of assistance that we can provide as per our Support Policy.
You can also try copying and editing this file within your theme (or child theme) folder, as detailed in the Themer’s Guide that I referenced in my previous reply.
If this functionality is a requirement for your intended project, I’d suggest that a third-party developer would be the best way to make this feature happen on a short timeline. ? We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/
I know this wasn’t the answer that you were looking for, but please let me know if you have any other questions on this topic that I can answer for you!
Thanks,
Jaime
