ParticipantHi.
We’ve recently updated the Events Calendar from 4.2.5 to 4.4.5 and there were a few serious issues.
We’ve purchased Events Pro to receive support but we have not installed the Pro plugin yet as we already have many issues with the free one.I list them below, and also here is a 10 min demonstration video:
Would be grateful for any suggestions!Issue 1 (small):
Pull-down menus in the Organizers and Location are broken.
Issue 2 (critical):
Pull-down menu in a custom coded section is broken:
difficult to scroll, as the size is limited
not it’s only possible to choose one item from the menu, while we used to be able to choose multiple.Issue 3 (critical):
There seems to be a conflict with WPML:
the custom coded pulldown menu (mentioned in issue 2) allows to select “team members” and post their profile in the event’s page.
After update, strange blank lines appeared in the menu. I confirmed that the blank lines correspond to the Japanese team members.
When a blank line is selected as a teem member, a Japanese profile appears in the English event page. However, it links to an English “team member page”
if the site is switch to Japanese, there are much more blank spaces in the pull down menu, but I am unable to test what happens if I select them because of the Issue 4.Issue 4 (critical):
Events page’s backend often turns white when I am trying to edit/save changes, especially in Japanese.

MemberHi @poancia,
Thanks for contacting us (though I’m sorry to hear you’ve experienced difficulties).
I do first of all want to highlight that we try hard to stick to one issue per forum topic — we’ve found this prevents confusion and allows us to help everyone in a fast and fair manner.
In this case, what I suggest is we start with basic troubleshooting and see if we can eliminate any of the highlighted problems. The dropdown selectors, for instance, should not have the double arrow icons and my hunch is that that stems from a plugin or theme conflict (the fact that the dropdowns can vary in width, however, is expected following recent changes we made).
So, if possible (and especially as you have a staging site at your disposal), could we start by removing other components from the picture and see if that resolves things – then add other items back in to see which if any are introducing the conflicts?
Temporarily disabling any custom coding would be an essential part of the troubleshooting process in this case: I realize that, like WPML, your custom coding needs to be present to see some of the problems you are experiencing. However, disabling them could help us to determine if they are instrumental in triggering other problems.
Thanks!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
