ParticipantUpdated today to 4.2 Events Calendar. Have NOT updated Calendar PRO since all broke loose.
Screen of the top of the site now. client site. This is bad today. Really need to fix this right away.
Of course, client has called and is upset. THank you for any help – I understand this is a known issue –
but today is a bummer. I have repeating events year to year – to lose my events is a nightmare so
downgrading is NOT an option. Here is the string of errors on all pages of the site header now:
Notice: /home/commu123/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/deprecated/Tribe__Events__PUE__Checker.php is deprecated since version 4.2! Use Tribe__Events__PUE__Checker instead. in /home/commu123/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3782
Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter – headers already sent (output started at /home/commu123/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php:3782) in /home/commu123/public_html/wp-content/plugins/seamless-donations/legacy/dgx-donate.php on line 1006
PLEASE HELP? Thank you.

MemberHi. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
I see from those error messages that:
1)
You should update ALL your Modern Tribe plugins to their latest versions. I’m guessing you updated just The Events Calendar core/free and not the PRO add-on (or something like this) and that’s throwing the error.
Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
2)
You should temporarily or permanently disable the ‘seamless-donations’ plugin.
I hope this helps resolve things for you.

ParticipantThank you for your response. Everything is updated – and the Events & calendar no longer work. WordPress core, Events Calendar 4.2 and Calendar PRO all updated and not working.
You mentioned to disable Seamless Donations temporarily or permanently. There is now an error in this module preventing it from working and has been disabled; events still not working. This is become a bigger problem now because my client must have Seamless Donations module working – as well as a calendar module. It’s not an option.
So what should I do now? The site is broken. I need both modules. What happened in 4.2? These are NOT solutions and I need a solution. What alternatives to Events Calendar are available that will work? I don’t understand what code in 4.2 is causing my site to crash.
If I restore a backup to the old versions and keep it there, what will happen in the future? Please help me with a real solution, especially since others have posted about broken sites with 4.2. Please help. Thank you.

MemberSorry about the troubles your site is experiencing.
I suggested deactivating Seamless Donations due to it displaying a PHP Warning (and it looks like it’s using PHP Sessions), which can complicate the troubleshooting process.
Our plugin’s “PUE” PHP Notice is a lower-priority issue (Warnings are worse than Notices). We will be fixing that issue in our next update so that notice should go away then.
That information should explain both of those PHP messages showing up. Am I correct that the overall issue to be resolved is these messages appearing throughout your site?
If yes, please disable display of these messages by adding this to your wp-config.php file:
define( 'WP_DEBUG', false ); @ini_set( 'display_errors', false );If that doesn’t solve the issue for you, would you mind grabbing your system information and pasting it here? Make sure to use the “Set as private reply” checkbox to protect your private information from the public.
You can find the system info by going to WP Admin > Events > Settings > Help tab > System Information section
Full details are available at our System Information KB article
That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.

MemberThose wp-admin login credentials didn’t work for me again.
Regardless, if the theme provider includes our plugin(s) with their theme, we cannot provide support for that other than suggesting you make sure (ask them) that their packaged/included plugin(s) of ours are at their latest versions and are not modified in any way.
If they are modified, they’ll need to be the ones to resolve the issue(s), or you’ll need to switch to a theme that doesn’t modify our plugins if you’d like to receive our support.
As stated in our Scope of Support / Terms, we only support WordPress default themes like TwentyFourteen, TwentyFifteen, TwentySixteen, etc.
I know it’s frustrating being stuck between two companies’ support policies, but we cannot provide support for how other companies use or modify our products.

MemberGreat! Now activate PRO and make sure it’s at its latest version.
Then check if everything works properly.
If things don’t work properly, please share the WP_DEBUG messages you see and a fresh copy of your System Information Report.
