Events Calendar and PRO have been updated to latest versions as soon as the problem with the WP update was solved.

Still have the 404 issue after testing conflicts procedure. Last time the problem was resolved after I added a snippet you gave me and we changed permalinks to “tribaltect”. I have no idea what exactly was that that made the difference …..
now what?

I did the above and also tried to switch back to event and again back to “tribaltect” as advised during same problem in the past but no luck.

Hi Josh,

Some progress at last!
Looks like my hosting provider (Bluehost) had some issues with the new version of WP and when they solved this I managed to update TheEventsCalendar as well.
Now the problem is that even though my calendar seems ok, when you click on an event it gets you to an Error 404 – Page not found.
Here we go again….

Hi,
it’s been almost a month and I still have serious issues.
I’ve contacted my hosting provider and they have changed my theme back to basic and deactivated TheEventsCalendar and one more plugin that seemed to have a problem (even though everything was working perctly before the last update).

I went back to my admin page and tried to activate my old theme again but it was not working so I’m still using another one until I find a solution. I tried to upgrade the WP version but it is not possible, I’m trying to activate and update TheEventsCalendar but it is not possible either. I deleted TheEventsCalendar and tried to reinstall it from the beginning but again not possible.

I’ve asked more support from my hosting but I’m still waiting for a solution.
If you have any ideas on how this can be solved please feel free to share.

Thanks Josh,

I’m afraid I didn’t manage to manually delete the files from FTP. I’m very new to this and even though I read the step by step instructions I didn’t manage to get access to the various files. If you can help me with more guidance I can try once again.
I don’t think it is a matter of storage etc as the site is quite new and have not yet so much data.

Appreciate your assistance as this is the 2nd time in 2 month period that I loose site access.

Hi Brook,
I think we made it!
Firstly, just to let you know that I had my PRO license activated but for some reason I wasn’t seeing any “update available” before. Today, there was a sign (without doing anything), so I updated to 3.9.
Secondly, I added the snippet as you said and now it is working, both for old and new events! For your info I didn’t flush permalinks and since it is working I think I’d better not do it 🙂

What should I do next? Should I erase the first snipet and leave the 2nd one?

Hi Brook,
At last I managed to restore the site!
So, we were back to where we were. Still have the “tribaltect” and same responses from the site. I updated The Events Calendar free version to 3.9 and category colours to 3.9.4.
When I uploaded the snippet (without losing everything this time! I think it was the <?php as you said that did all this) I got the following message at the top:

“The following plugins are out of date: Events Calendar PRO 3.8.1. All add-ons contain dependencies on The Events Calendar and will not function properly unless paired with the right version. Want to pair an older version?”

Is there a newre version of Calendar Pro? How can I update it? I don’t see any “Update” sign like in free version.

The original problem still remains the same, however.

I tried to paste this snippet but it returns to “internak system error”, even when I try to replace the functions.php with the original file. Hope this is temporary and has nothing to do with the snippet. will look at it again. meanwhile how can i send you the backup files? I cannot attach a file in here.

Hi Brook,
changed to “tribaltect” and everything is the same.
added the snippet to functions.php
added “?tribe_query_debug=true” to my “xmas decoration” event pretty permalink (I noticed it takes out the? when I save the permalink is that how it should be?) and I still got the same

Thanks Brook. I’m afraid nothing changes. I’ve tried all the permalinks common settings but I always the same response, except when I swith to default when I get “this link appears to be broken” and when I choose custom structure it automatically goes to post name.

I have not tried to copy the snippet you suggest in the tutorial as I’m not very familiar with this and I’m a bit hesitant. Should I try it or you can see what’s wrong from the above?
