KevinParticipant
Thanks for the help Casey. All of your suggestions worked perfectly.
KevinParticipantThanks, Casey. We will incorporate this and see if it helps with the issue. Unfortunately people do not tend to read things and skip over the instructions and right to the form. Hopefully we can make this work. However, it has brought up another issue within the same form. That issue being that people have the option to choose their Venue, which is ultimately saved addresses from other’s submissions. For instance, if someone in Birdsboro is putting their sale information in and pull down that Use Saved Venue menu and choose Birdsboro as their venue, it is adding the address of the person’s home who originally saved the venue as Birdsboro, and not the new address of the person filling out the form. The easiest way to fix this problem would be to remove the menu “Use Saved Venue” from the form entirely. I know this is getting a little custom but is it doable? Or do we need to provide additional instruction at the top of the form for that as well? Again, trying to make this as easy as possible for those average internet users that may not have the intuition of how to properly use the page as a whole. Thanks again for your help!
KevinParticipantSounds good to me! Thanks again!
KevinParticipantThanks so much, Casey! You’ve been incredibly helpful, and I’ll be sure to try this out!
KevinParticipant1. He’d like the first heading to read “Event Title (ex. Reading Yard Sale, Exeter Yard Sale, etc.)”
2. We’d like to remove the “Saved Venues,” Venue Name, and Phone fields.
3. We’d like to remove “Event Organizer Details.”
4. It would be awesome to be able to change the “Evil Spanner” checkbox to read as our own disclaimer instead. I have the text, but I’d be happy to drop it in there if I know where to go to do that.
5. Finally, we’d love to be able to have the text in the Event Details box read with our own message before they can edit it. If not, we’d just like to be able to put additional text in somewhere on this page…maybe the HTML option would work for this? Unfortunately, we only want it on this particular page, so that may be harder than it sounds.I hate being the clueless “designer” here, and I really appreciate your help. I understand the reasoning behind keeping the form a bit of a closed system, but I thank you for any advice you may have regarding these issues. Thanks again!
KevinParticipantThat worked! Quick question, though. I’d really like to be able to change some of the text on the form, too. You know, like descriptions above the fields. I keep digging around the resources on this site and trying to find the code for the actual form layout, and I come up empty handed. Where can I look for these? Thanks!
KevinParticipantThanks a lot for the response! I’ll give this a shot for sure.
