ParticipantHey guys. I keep searching for the easy answer on how to remove entire sections on the “Add Event” page and I keep coming up short. I want to get rid of cost, event images, and a slew of other options. Is there a file where I can go in and delete the corresponding code and have that be it? Thanks!

ParticipantTayls,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry you’re having issues. We should be able to hide some of these sections by just using some CSS and jQuery.First, just add the following CSS to the end of your theme’s stylesheet: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/6125290
Secondly, add the following to your theme’s functions.php file: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/6125378
Give that a shot and let me know if that hides the ‘Event Images’ and ‘Cost’ sections for you. Thanks!

ParticipantThat worked! Quick question, though. I’d really like to be able to change some of the text on the form, too. You know, like descriptions above the fields. I keep digging around the resources on this site and trying to find the code for the actual form layout, and I come up empty handed. Where can I look for these? Thanks!

ParticipantTayls,
Which field labels are you looking to change?August 9, 2013 at 9:39 pm #59811Kevin
Participant1. He’d like the first heading to read “Event Title (ex. Reading Yard Sale, Exeter Yard Sale, etc.)”
2. We’d like to remove the “Saved Venues,” Venue Name, and Phone fields.
3. We’d like to remove “Event Organizer Details.”
4. It would be awesome to be able to change the “Evil Spanner” checkbox to read as our own disclaimer instead. I have the text, but I’d be happy to drop it in there if I know where to go to do that.
5. Finally, we’d love to be able to have the text in the Event Details box read with our own message before they can edit it. If not, we’d just like to be able to put additional text in somewhere on this page…maybe the HTML option would work for this? Unfortunately, we only want it on this particular page, so that may be harder than it sounds.I hate being the clueless “designer” here, and I really appreciate your help. I understand the reasoning behind keeping the form a bit of a closed system, but I thank you for any advice you may have regarding these issues. Thanks again!

ParticipantTayls,
I think I’ve gotten you most of the way there. Unfortunately, #2 is not possible, but I think I’ve gotten you most of the way there with this code. Just paste it into your theme’s functions.php file: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/6210942Just let me know if that gets you where you need to be. Thanks!
