Thank you oh wonderful Support Guru! I went through your checklist and the calendar appeared once I enabled all views (list,day, week, month, photo, map).

I’ve since switched the slugs to “events” & “event” and everything is working as it should. 🙂

FYI – I had previously deactivated all plug-ins listed in my plug-in section less The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar Pro.
