ParticipantI recently migrated multiple WP installs over to WP Engine for managed hosting. I have “The Events Calendar” on three websites and 2 of the 3 are working fine. However for http://www.lofcenter.org I had an existing page titled “Events” and it has caused some issues getting the plug-in to show the dynamically created events page. I’ve deleted the empty “Events” page, I’ve searched the DB for possible orphaned permalinks, I’ve attempted to change the events page slug to “events12” or other words and still get the Error 404 page. http://www.lofcenter.org/events12/
However single events show-up fine http://www.lofcenter.org/events/2014-trafficking-in-america-conference/
I’ve also gone through and disabled all other plug-ins, reverted to 2012 Theme and still receive the following error. “It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.” I’ve also uninstalled the plugin and re-installed but have not been able to get it working. Any help in fixing this?June 10, 2014 at 11:13 am #217107solmedia

ParticipantHowdy solmedia,
Thank you for all of the information! This is awesome.
Typically the single-event slug is ‘event’ and the events slut is ‘events’. You generally do not want them to be the same as this can cause conflicts. Can you try changing the events slug to ‘tribe-test’ for now?
Have you tried flushing permalinks? This can be accomplished by going to WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks, and clicking save. You might event try changing the structure, and pressing save. Does that affect it at all?
I notice that your default view is upcoming, yet only Photo and Map views are enabled. Could you try temporarily enabling all views?
Out of curiosity, when you deactivated all plugins did you also disable MU ones? This problem is very peculiar, and while a bit doubtful an MU plugin being the cause is certainly not outside the realm of possibility.
Hopefully one of those ideas helps us solve this. Please let me know if you have questions, or if you find the resolution. Thanks!

ParticipantThank you oh wonderful Support Guru! I went through your checklist and the calendar appeared once I enabled all views (list, day, week, month, photo, map).
I’ve since switched the slugs to “events” & “event” and everything is working as it should. 🙂
FYI – I had previously deactivated all plug-ins listed in my plug-in section less The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar Pro.

ParticipantExcellent solmedia! I am very glad we could help. Posting your system information was the ticket to catching this one.
You should now be able to disable any views you do not want. Just make doubly sure that your default view is one of the enabled views. We have some javasacript in place that should prevent you from selecting a default view other than one of the enabled ones, but it might have glitched in your case. Perhaps your browser did not finish downloading the script, or there was a console error.
Thanks again for all the information. If you have a minute or two, we would love it if you could write a few words about the plugin here. Happy developing!
