September 19, 2018 at 6:00 pm in reply to: Translated Recurring Events are not being generated whenusing the Once #1625970
scala
ParticipantHi there Jennifer,
Did a regression test of the “Once” functionality, and the original problem is gone BUT it is still NOT correct.
The failure now is that the first instance of the “Once” recurring events is generated TWICE. (Rest of the sequence is OK.)
Furthermore: an error is displayed on trying to delete these incorrect instances. (But is actually an incorrect message since the delete happens anyway.) Note: Never have seen this message before.Test Scenario:
Two languages NL and EN (NL main language)Made the following events with the once functionality:
djtest 01 NL
date: 22 Sep time: 22:00 -> 1:00
date: 24 Sep time: 22:00 -> 1:00
date: 25 Sep time: 22:00 -> 1:00
date: 3 Oct time: 22:00 -> 1:00Then duplicated and made Independent (like described in your procedure) so that the following events are defined:
djtest 01 EN
date: 22 Sep time: 22:00 -> 1:00
date: 24 Sep time: 22:00 -> 1:00
date: 25 Sep time: 22:00 -> 1:00
date: 3 Oct time: 22:00 -> 1:00So I created a total number of 8 events. 4 NL events and 4 EN events.
And this is what I EXPECT.TEST RESULTS:
But this is the result:
5 NL events and 5 EN events!
The first event is date: 22 Sep time: 22:00 -> 1:00 erroneously duplicated. (see screenshots)To be clear: The “Once” function is NOT working correctly.
See the screenshots:
– first instance event NL is an erroneous duplicate (rest instances NL are OK)
– first instance event EN also is an erroneous duplicate (rest instances EN are OK)
– error given when trashing these eventsNow am NOT experiencing these problems when using other recurring functionality, for example: first Monday of the month til day X
Am using exact same procedure for defining WPML translations as for the “Once” tests.For your information: We are NOT using the “Once” recurring functionality. We are working around it. Have already spent too much time on it. We are not actively looking to use it, considering the past and current limitations.
Now it could be that we have an environmental issue (example database corruption) but I am not aware of this since rest of functionality working OK.
Cheers

ParticipantHi there Victor,
Nice to hear there is a fix! Thanks.
Will set up the tests and let you know when I have performed them.

ParticipantHello Brendan,
Wonderful!
Just tried it out on my site and great result.Thought it would need a template change, but nice that it could be done with a CSS change.
Thanks!
scala
ParticipantSolved.
Thanks for that Jennifer.

ParticipantHello Sky,
Thanks for that.
Will head your advice as to “unintended consequences”.
So will keep my hands out of the code “innards”.
Will have to think of something else.
cheers

ParticipantHi Jennifer,
Sorry to hear that.
As to 100% compatible, what or who ever is? But I will quote the page you quote back at you. It states: “difficult to ensure 100% compatibility at all times … however, a high degree of compatibility exists with the following plugins: Events Calendar Pro.”
Recurring events is not an obscure feature for events functionality. It is one of two key features for which we at least chose “Events Calendar Pro”. (The other reason being Photo View.)
In the current system we use we can not define recurring events, which is source of a lot of grief. We have various recurring events that do not have a regular recurring format. Ideal for the “Once” recurring event functionality. So you can imagine our disappointment that it is not working.
Good to hear that you are working at it.
Yes, you can help me with the following, thanks for asking:
Are there any other recurrent events definitions not working correctly with WPML? For example monthly, or weekly. Or combination thereof? Basically what has been logged as defect with recurring event with WPML?cheers

ParticipantHello Ray,
Good to hear from you.
Nice to see I can remove the categories.
But in my case (as explained in the ticket description) I only want to remove 1 category from the Details section.
1 and only 1 category. The rest SHOULD still be displayed.Is this possible?
Or maybe there is a another solution to stop displaying 1 and only 1 category? (In my case stop displaying the “On Photo view” category).Rave on,
