    Hi Barry
The calendar widget is the cause of all the other problems. Remove it and everything is fine. Weird thing was move it from the left hand widget area to the right hand area and ecpro worked fine other than it seems to be picking up the page/post details and creating an event for that day.
I shan’t be messing with the code unless the widget maintenance release is delayed for a while.

    More on plugin problem!
Move the mini calendar widget to the right hand widget area and the comments show fine but whatever page/post you are on the widget picks it up and creates an event for today. If you turn the events to show to 0 it still creates and displays the event. Screenshots are in the dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/b8ks0dsmg8rravt/Screenshot%202013-12-06%2011.21.06.png

I give up. Complete reinstall, only magazine theme and only ec and ecpro installed. Good news the drag&drop issue sorted! Bad news the comments still don’t work. So unless someone has a good idea I will have to find another theme.

Ok make no changes to plugins and apply unmodified 2012 theme and the old comments at the botton of the post appears again but the drag and drop doesnt work etc. Deactivate all plugins except e calendar and pro. no change. Deactivate pro and the drag and drop works.
I think the best thing to do is to do a complete reinstall of wordpress and see whaere that gets me.

    Hi Barry
Thanks for looking into this for me. I have Just about tried everything now including another themes (graphene) and 2012 in those instances the old comments reappeared at the bottom of posts but the widget drag and drop still didn’t work and if you click on the screen options (widget page) nothing happens, disable pro and everything works fine.

Due to the other themes not working correctly with this plugin I am at a loss as what to do next. Do you have any suggestions?

just a little more information for you. The Comments issue is resolved by just disabling pro ie works if EC is active but the updraft issue requires all the EC ECpro and community events to be disabled.

    Hi Barry
there is another issue in that updraftpro backup will not work unless I disable ECpro. it greys out and checking on their support it says http://updraftplus.com/faqs/the-modal-windows-that-updraftplus-opens-cant-be-clicked-on-they-are-greyed-out/
The link to the theme is https://themes.bavotasan.com/2010/magazine-premium/
I know it is difficult to resolve all issues with theme conflicts. \many thanks for your attention.

Ok. I reset the theme as out of the box and all works.
