ParticipantHi. I’m running Magazine Premium created by c.bavota and there seems to be several issues occurring preventing the site from operating correctly.
First when EC pro is enabled the widget area will not drag and drop, disable and it works fine.
Second the theme will not display comments on pages that have widgets in the sidebars disabling the plugin and that works fine,
Third the calendar page will not display and the events list page comes up with a 404.
Any ideas on what needs to be done here?

MemberHi Pete,
I’m not familiar with Magazine Premium. Generally speaking we can only offer in depth support with default WordPress themes, however if there’s clearly an issue on our side we’ll happily investigate.
Can you link to the theme and provide a copy we can download if it isn’t freely available?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Barry
there is another issue in that updraftpro backup will not work unless I disable ECpro. it greys out and checking on their support it says http://updraftplus.com/faqs/the-modal-windows-that-updraftplus-opens-cant-be-clicked-on-they-are-greyed-out/
The link to the theme is https://themes.bavotasan.com/2010/magazine-premium/
I know it is difficult to resolve all issues with theme conflicts. \many thanks for your attention.

Participantjust a little more information for you. The Comments issue is resolved by just disabling pro ie works if EC is active but the updraft issue requires all the EC ECpro and community events to be disabled.

MemberHi Peter.
The link to the theme is https://themes.bavotasan.com/2010/magazine-premium/
I’m afraid that doesn’t let us download the theme. Can you instead make the theme available as a downloadable .zip file, sharing it via Dropbox, Droplr or a similar service – or even by uploading it to your own WordPress site? You can share the link via a private reply if you prefer.
It would also be great if we could separate these issues out into individual threads.
First when EC pro is enabled the widget area will not drag and drop, disable and it works fine.
Let’s focus on this issue in this thread: can you confirm if you mean the regular drag and drop behaviour you would expect in the standard WordPress widgets admin screen? If so, I don’t experience the same thing – does this only happen in combination with your theme?
Again, for those other issues, if you could go ahead and post new threads that would be great:
* Second the theme will not display comments on pages that have widgets in the sidebars
* Third the calendar page will not display and the events list page comes up with a 404
* there is another issue in that updraftpro backup will not work unless I disable ECproThanks!

MemberHi Peter: the download contains a copy of Events Calendar PRO – can you make a copy of the theme available instead?

MemberHi Peter: I only see the Dropbox link you previously shared (and that still provides a copy of Events Calendar PRO rather than your theme) – there are no other suitable links that I can see in your above posts.

MemberThanks. So with only our latest releases for The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO installed (plus the theme you sent across) I find the following:
First when EC pro is enabled the widget area will not drag and drop, disable and it works fine.
No problem I can see – I can drag and drop widgets without any issue – and the changes are reflected on the frontend, too.
Second the theme will not display comments on pages that have widgets in the sidebars disabling the plugin and that works fine
Seems fine, too. As you can see in this screenshot I was able to leave a comment which is visible (also visible if I’m not logged in) and I have widgets in the sidebar.
Third the calendar page will not display and the events list page comes up with a 404.
Again there was no problem, all views – both PRO and core – work just fine. Did you have events set up for your own test purposes? If you didn’t, that might explain the 404s.
In summary then I can’t see any of these problems and was only running our core and PRO plugins plus your theme. That’s not to say what you are experiencing isn’t real and valid, just that it would be very difficult for us to troubleshoot further and may not in fact be a general issue for users of either product – rather it might be specific to your installation.
With that in mind I don’t feel we can really offer a great deal more on this occasion.

ParticipantHi Barry
Thanks for looking into this for me. I have Just about tried everything now including another themes (graphene) and 2012 in those instances the old comments reappeared at the bottom of posts but the widget drag and drop still didn’t work and if you click on the screen options (widget page) nothing happens, disable pro and everything works fine.Due to the other themes not working correctly with this plugin I am at a loss as what to do next. Do you have any suggestions?

MemberI’m not sure there is much more we can do to help – this isn’t something we are seeing many reports of by any means and even with your theme I can’t replicate it.
I have Just about tried everything now including another themes (graphene) and 2012
I realize that when you opened the thread you noted you had tried this, but just for completeness, apart from switching to an unmodified copy of Twenty Twelve did you also – at the same time as changing theme – deactivate all other plugins (ie, leaving only The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO up and running)?

ParticipantOk make no changes to plugins and apply unmodified 2012 theme and the old comments at the botton of the post appears again but the drag and drop doesnt work etc. Deactivate all plugins except e calendar and pro. no change. Deactivate pro and the drag and drop works.
I think the best thing to do is to do a complete reinstall of wordpress and see whaere that gets me. -
