Thx Nico.
We submitted a fruitful support ticket to ‘TokoPress’ the developer behind our theme: ‘Eventica’. They showed us where the sorting takes place in their widgets:
—————————
1. File location: ‘theme > inc > theme > widgets.php’
2. copy the file in directory ‘theme > inc > theme > widgets.php’ to your child theme in same folder like: ‘childtheme > inc > theme > widgets.php’
3. Edit the code in widget.php line 290
4. Change ‘ASC’ in ‘DESC’
—————————SOLVED!
Thx & BR,
Nienke

I feel alittle bit silly. But yes, it is indeed part of the Envato ‘Eventica’ plugin we use.
I should rephrase my question…because I don’t want to use a certain widget but I want to accomplish a goal:
Is there an easy way to show past events in reverse chronological order in the footer and/or sidebar? and adding to that:
Using the standard event calendar PRO product/widget with maybe some customization? Thanks in advance.

We (simply) use the default widget for both footer and sidebar: ‘::TP::Past events’ (see screenshot’)

We postponed to the mondat after christmas (tomorrow). We also upgraded all plugins on both sites to the latest.
After doing the whole procedure over (including clearing MySQL) and set the correct timezone (Amsterdam) & dateformats the import succeeded.
Our final conclusion: the timezone and formats (in the ical) where indeed different. The one was set to “UTC+1” and the other was set to “Amsterdam”.
Thanks Nico and have a wonderful 2016!

Thanks for your quick response. But no I tried it and the functions run succesfully but won’t resolve the issue. The ical feed is not showing the 10 already imported-but-deleted events. In fact I used the number 10 as just a number. Our feed contains much more items…otherwise I would type them by hand 😉
So is there an other approach to this? Can I do something by hand in the MySql database?
Please advise.
Thanks in advance.
