ParticipantSeth – thankyou so much for this shortcode function! I’ve made immediate use of it!

ParticipantHi Rob
The blog post doesn’t help unfortunately, because that’s about how to style the OUTPUT of the widget. I’ve got that under control.
I need to be able to change the CONTENT generated for the widget output (to include additional categories).
Cheers
Mike
ParticipantHi Rob
Have you received my last couple of replies regarding this?
January 27, 2012 at 8:10 pm in reply to: Limit event description number of characters in List View #14302Mike
ParticipantHi Lynne
I had this requirement too and worked out a fix for it. I posted it here as something that I believe should go in the core code base.
Hope it helps.
January 26, 2012 at 12:14 pm in reply to: Events listed by Venue displaying all events not just future events. #14207Mike
ParticipantI did the same. I reported the bug last week sometime. I hope it’s fixed in 2.1, along with a lot of other bugs I reported.
I’d like to revert back to mostly standard files so upgrading is smoother. I’ve made so many changes in my local events files.
Mike
ParticipantSorry Rob, it’s coming soon. Just waiting to hear back from the client to make sure they have the events in CSV or excel or something first 🙂
Mike
ParticipantBut you can see it’s not. I pressed enter 4 times in-between those two lines.
Mike
ParticipantBy #9, I mean if I try to add multiple line breaks (pressing enter), then they are stripped and all the text is just squished together.
So this line should be 4 lines below the one above.
Mike
ParticipantThanks Rob. Email coming your way.
Mike
ParticipantNo worries – I’ve worked around it by using the solution in the first post, but I would like to see it addressed in 2.1.
Mike
ParticipantOk some more to add to the list now:
#8 – There’s no way to edit my post. I can edit the original thread but I can’t edit a post. This is really frustrating 🙂
#9 – Formatting is not preserved. If I have multiple ‘blank lines’, they are stripped.
Hi Rob
#1 – Well, you can see what happened above. It’s just broke.
#2 – I am using Chrome also. And in the post-reply I see a scrollbar. In the new thread, there is no scrollbar.
#3 – other forums handle this by having a little icon next to the thread name which jumps to the last post. Click on the thread title to start from the beginning, click on the icon to jump to the latest new post.
#5 – Oh thanks. I tried going into the “Account” menu in the top right and couldn’t find anything there. This works.
#6 – You really need to show both. There’s plenty of space where it shows each thread title/meta, to show “Created by XXX. Most recent by YYY”.
#7 – Thanks – the main reason is because you come back to the forum to check for new posts, and can’t see the time they were updated.
Mike
ParticipantHi ROb thanks for the reply.
#1 – I am using
- it still fails with php open/close tags. I just put {code} in this post so it didn't parse it :)#2 - I am using Chrome also. And in the post-reply I see a scrollbar. In the new thread, there is no scrollbar.

ParticipantJust remembered (as per a post yesterday) that I also had to modify the same code in single-venue.php.
There’s a lot of duplicated code between list.php and single-venue.php. Makes it a real pain to get them looking the same.
Mike
ParticipantIt’s customised *now*, but the bug is in the out of the box version too.
Mike
ParticipantThanks Jonah – that code will be helpful.
I hope it’s a feature on the list for 2.1 as well though 🙂
