    Hi there,

    its all fixed.

    but:
    – if you download the language files the ending is e. g. -de and not -de_DE
It all works now, after I have instlled the latest updates 3.10.1 and after changing the endings of the downloaded files!

    Pse mark as resolved/closed

    regards
    M.

    Hi George,

thx for your reply so far.

    I checked everything you wanted.
    1. Language Settings for our site are all ok.
    2. I checked the new Language files for the Calendar and the pro Calendar.
    – German is translated 98 % and 100 %
    – I downloaded these files and loaded them up into both calendar language directories.

    Still, everything in English?

One point I am not sure about is:
    – almost all files in that language directory are written as follows:
    tribe-events-calendar-bg_BG.mo
The german files are written like this:
    tribe-events-calendar-pro-de.mo
    instead of:
    tribe-events-calendar-pro-de_DE.mo

But I suppose the ending with big letters does not matter?

    Hi Josh,

to get rid of the wrong sitelinks we have the widget now displayed only on our index page. Since our site is not an event site by any means I think that is good enough.
    Thx anyway!

    Hi George,

    sorry for my late reply.
I think I looked on the wrong end. Since I am not into coding etc.

We had before installed another calendar and switched for certain reasons to yours. Which, I think, was definitely the right idea. The other calendar used instead of your “photo” view the “posterboard” view. I think for some reason it produced (or is still producing) thousands of this type of 404s.
Even if we have that calendar taken off?

    Hi George,

    welcome!:)
    1. It is related to the calendar (I think) because in this URL the words:
“veranstaltungen” = is the german word for events and was exchanged by me.
“posterboard” is only used in the site in relation with the calendar.

    2. these problems showed up after installing the new calendar. We had installed before a similiar calendar. You might know it? mhhhh .. would it be possible that these URLs were produced by the old one? On the other hand we did not use the word “veranstaltungen” in the old one?

    3. we are not able to deactivate the calendar at the moment.

    Hi again,

I checked our access logs again today. A lot of calls are going still e. g. to: ……/veranstaltungen/action~posterboard/page_offset~1/time_limit~1420372801/cat_ids~40/tag_ids~145/

    and these are still 404s?

    Hi Jami,

I installed the recommended plugin and waited now several days.
The 404s in the Goo.. WMTs are showing meanwhile not only some hundreds, but 13056 (thousands) of 404s.

The WMTs do not show them under “soft 404” but under the “normal 404”.
    Everyday now some thousand more?

One mor information to this, because it might be of help?:
    – our site is under SSL (https). Of course you can look it up also under “http”
    – the WMTs under “https” do not show this 404s. Only the WMTs under normal “www”

    Hi Josh,

you mean we should switch another thems?
I am sorry, impossible, since this is a pretty big site and it is not possible to take it down for this, testing another theme??

    Hi josh,
we implemented the code in our functions.php!
I checked in the WMTs via the structured data testing tool.

For me it looks as if the markups are still valid.
We have 5 events displayed in the widget.
    The testing tool gives us

    hcalendar 1
    dtstart: 2015-05-03T09:00:00+02:00
    summary: Fischmarkt
    dtend: 2015-05-03T06:00:00+02:00
    duration: 03.05. @ 09:00 – 18:00
    location [adr]:
    locality: Cuxhaven
    country-name: Deutschland

(This 5 times for every event.)

In the tools overview it gives us for:
“knowledge Graph” – events – no error
“rich snippets” – events – no error.

So for me it looks, as if the mark ups are stikll valid for Goo….!??????

    Hi Josh,
yes the site is up and you should see via the links again.
Coincidently while you tried to check via the links, we did some technical maintenance.

Now you are able to check it.

    Hi Josh,

and yes we are running the YOAST SEO Plugin.
We wouln t know why and how that plugin should interfere with the calendar widget?

As I stated before – most important to us would be “to switch off” somehow those sitelinks generated by the widget via the structured datas.
    See also my post:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/widget-installed-other-plugin-surpressed/
(I guess we could close that one?)

A solution for us would be if we could get rid somehow of the “tags” within the widget code producing this structured datas. That way search engines could not read them and display them in the serps?

    Hello to the support,

pse response, since this is for us a critical issue.

    1. The event widget is an additional information on our site.
Displaying the sitelinks in the Goo.. Serps on ALL pages is not wanted.
I suppose the 3 sitelinks are shown because of the “structured data” the widget produces. Is there a posiibilita to switch them off (regarding only the widget)
It would be ok if the widget would display events, only with links pointing to the events.

    2. For the Event section on our site, sitelinks produced by the events are ok.
(even there the sitelinks in the serps are pointing oftenb to the wrong event?)

    Pse response

    regards
    Mike
