    Hi Geoff,

Once again I’d like to thank you for helping me out. Most companies would have given up on a customer at this point but you guys haven’t.

That’s why I like your support team so much 🙂

I took a look at the solution and as soon as I saw that it involved editing PHP, no matter how simple the change may have been, I decided not to give it a try.

I made it a point to our website team at our organization to never edit website files like that in case things go horribly wrong (and it has in the past).

I know this isn’t the outcome you were looking for.

For the time being I will switch my main calendar view from List to Month. view. The spacing issue is not apparent with the monthly view so our visitors won’t realize something is wrong.

Fingers crossed that the next plugin update for the calendar will magically make the wpautop issue disappear.

    Thanks again Geoff.

    Best,
    Ismail

    Good morning Geoff,

Once again I’d like to thank you and your team for taking the time to solve my issue. I greatly appreciate it.

I followed your recommendation and uploaded the plugin from Github.

As soon as I did that this strange problem occurred on the main events page – http://imgur.com/aDeK7y1

I switched from the LIST view to the MONTH view and it was the same wpautop problem as before – http://imgur.com/G2ZcqBC

Furthermore, all of the event posts stopped working immediately after I installed the plugin. Whenever I clicked on an event listing this is what happened:

“Gateway Time-out. The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.”

Because of that I was forced to deactivate the plugin you sent me from GitHub. Now my main events page (mymasjid.ca/events) is back to its original form with the weird wpautop spacing issue.

Things didn’t work out as nicely as we hoped.

But I’m confident it will be fixed soon 🙂

Let me know if you can figure out a fix for this issue.

    Thanks boss.

    Best regards,
    Ismail

    Hi Geoff,

Once again thanks for offering to help!

I tried to add some CSS rules as outlined in the post but it didn’t work as I hoped. Since a bug ticket has been opened I’ll just wait until it gets resolved.

It is an inconvenience but it isn’t the end of the world. I’ll probably just switch the default calendar view from List view to the Month view until the problem is fixed.

No big worries for now 🙂

Thanks again for the help. It would be greatly appreciated if you could notify me when the bug is resolved.

    Thanks boss.

    Best,
    Ismail

    Hey Geoff,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

To be quite honest with you I’ve never had to edit, change, or write a single line of PHP code. I have never touched anything related to PHP since creating this website when I built it all on my own a year ago.

I’ve been able to solve all of my past tech problems with my website through plugins, built-in WordPress settings, or simple CSS tweaks (and I’m proud of it as a non-programmer).

So when I looked into your suggestion I was bewildered. Is there any other way to solve this wpautop problem without messing around with PHP? If there is a CSS solution then I can do it myself.

If not, will this be addressed in a future update to the calendar plugin? I’ve noticed a couple people in the forums had similar issues with the recent updates.

    Best,
    Ismail
