ParticipantThanks for all your help. I got this email from my service provider (see below). Does their response explain the problem?
thanks-
Hello Macdara,
Thank you for contacting Aabaco Customer Care.
My name is Jitendra, I am glad to assist you.
I understand that you wish to access the htaccess file to troubleshoot the issue you hare having with theme. I apologize for the inconvenience.
The name .htaccess refers to the main configuration file for Apache, a popular open-source HTTP server. The .htaccess file can be used to create custom error pages and web page redirects, set up password protection, enable SSI, and more. Aabaco does not currently allow you to upload .htaccess files to your account. For other customization options, we recommend the custom Error Pages and password-protection features available in your Web Hosting Control Panel.
Thank you again for contacting Aabaco Customer Care. We appreciate your business and look forward to assisting you in the future.
Regards,
Jitendra

ParticipantI have deactivated all other plugins (tho not uninstalled them) and have no content in the blog currently other than 1 “test” post and 1 “sample” event.
I unfortunately don’t have access to the htaccess file, as far as I can tell. I believe its a hidden file, but my host does not give me access to hidden files (as best as I can tell).

ParticipantThanks for the quick reply. I tried changing the permalink settings to Post Name. Saved the setting. Problem still happened. Then I deleted the one event I had created, created a new event, tried again…same problem.
