Hi Geoff,
There was no change..
We are not using a business account. We can’t use that since we’re a non-profit organisation. Well even not that, but a de factor partnership between some friends. So we cannot use IPN since this requires a business account…

Any suggestions ?

Sorry for the delay.

The payment got processes through PayPal.
Woocommerce says it is completed yet it isn’t.

In meantime I changed some PayPal settings, I am monitoring it now to see if it occurs again.

Default order status Paypal: 0 tickets – cart empty (if that’s what you mean).
Event settings: screenshot attached.
PayPal gateway/autocomplete deactivated: still have to do that.

Thanks, I did not change anything but not those bullets are gone – weird!
BUT: in stead it added the event’s featured image but wrongly cropped/resized. See screenshot added.
A pitty that there’s no option to deselect the featured image in the widget, it just is there. So the only thing I could do was removing the widget.
