ParticipantI’m not sure that helps me a lot. The single event oage apoears to be called from another php file that provided the upper part of the page. I’m trying to figure out which file that is. It’s very unlike the single.php file for blogs which seems more self contained. Basically I’m looking for the file that delivers the page between the main menu and the beginning of the single event content. Even if I place my code at the absolute top of the single-event.php it is still within the confines of the event content Div.

ParticipantThis is actually all very confusing at this point, though it was acting the same after changing to tweentyseventeen.
I am using the Avada theme. It came with a basic form of your event calendar. I updated to a pro. But I have three different areas where I can change settings. The first is in sidebar menu on the left in the dashboard under events – settings. The second is in the avada op;tions panel under events and then another one under the customization menu. There are also all of your shortcodes plus one simply [events]. That is the only one I have used that shows the options of switching between views and searching, etc. When I use your shortcodes for he mini calendar I get the calendar plus a simple list with

ParticipantOK, at this point I have deactivated all plugins with the exception of the Event Calendar Pro, and have tried both twentyfifteen and twentyseventeen. Still same thing. Setting up a staging server would be a real pain at this point though I could see the value later.

ParticipantI used the second method and that did the trick. Yes, way to impressive a list of plugins. I am trying to remove some of them.
