Glad that that you confirm this bug as well, and just to answer your question: I don’t believe the hours are similar for events. Below you can see two events, and the hours used for each one, in case that helps to debug this issue.

For example, the following two events:

Start hours 6:00 pm
End hours 11:55pm

http://clubbonafide.com/event/telma-viale-at-club-bonafide/
Start hours 10:00 pm
End hours 10:00 pm

I’ve followed the directions in the Themer’s Guide to no avail. The basic event time still displays and there are no instructions I can find about how to adapt the information displayed and include Additional Fields. Hence my writing this support post in the first place.
